These books outline which books are still signed out and are sent home as a reminder to families to find the book or pay the cost. I've never put much thought into what these book titles could be doing to our students. How can I send home these reminders while still respecting the privacy of the students? (ex. In doing this, I believe that we are again deterring students from taking out books. If Curtis does not learn about his rights as a student, how will he defend and advocate for human rights as an adult?"

I agree with this and believe that this messaging needs to be clear with students (and staff) from the beginning of the school year. It should be included in an orientation that happens at the beginning of the school year.
