It was tricky to meet with Wendy initially, but this lady is full of great ideas and energy! We decided to use Flipgrid to show their understanding of "beginning, middle and end" by doing a book report on their book they had read. The initially did a storyboard before they used Flipgrid--which was planned for day 2.
_____________________
Day 2 started out by reviewing beginning , middle and end...they then began understanding how to use Flipgrid by having a student model for the entire class with Wendy assisting. It was a very successful day! All the students were able to share out their stories successfully!

We spent our time on the first day talking about his students using an ipad app to retell their stories so they could be uploaded to Seesaw. . Talked at great length about how to initially steady the ipad camera to take a good picture of the book, prior to them reading it aloud. Using an old milk crate with the book underneath is an ideal practice!
____________________
Day 2
I was lucky enough to help the students (2 at a time) Jed did many more at a time than me...and WOW...they WERE able to hold the camera on their own, needed minimal assistance with the app and after beginning this exercise, 12 out of 19 were able to be done during lesson time!

I met up with her class later that morning and I worked one on one with Seth with a numbers card trick, which he was eager to learn and then played a couple rounds of go fish with sight words he is practicing.. Angie and I talked about how to "improve" the friday coffee sales with more interaction and I'm just blown away by her creativity, engagement with her students and real world learning!
