Discussion: Have you views and opinions changed towards the characters now when the story has evolved and we got to know more about the background story for each person?

The characters show more affection of humanity. We can understand them better and in another way. I can feel pity and a little despite for some but at the same time understand their point of view and the backgrounds that eventually forms their personalities/moods and how the history determines their future. For example how Mr. Heathcliffs broken heart changes him.

Who do you want to know more about in the book? Someone that interests you a little extra?

Context:

Litterature:
Catrine and Heatclift grows up together and are soulmates. The main motive is love and class. Catrine and Heatclift can't marry each other because of social class and because they are "related". During the victorian age romantic novels and poetry was very common. Wuthering heights is based on a love story

During the victorian age women played an important part both as readers and writers. Some authors focused on the rich population and others focused on the lives of poor people. Emily Brontë wrote both about the Lintons, the rich family who lived at wuthering heights. They adopted Heathcliff, an orphan. She mixed both rich and poor people in her novel.
Quotes:
Words:
Superstition- vidskepelse

Acquaintance- bekantskap

Soliloquised- en monolog som en karaktär för om sina tankar

Confound- förbrylla

Compunction- skrupler, ångest, oro
