For example, a collection of bread tags, buttons, or popsicle sticks can be used as math manipulatives. Here are some easy do-it-yourself manipulatives you can create to use with your child:
- pool noodle fraction pieces
- bead 10's blocks (see attached photo)
- button collection for sorting
- various sized and coloured pom poms
- lego pieces (fractions, ordering numbers, etc.)
- popsicle sticks
- dominoes
- clothespegs
