While going through this course I learned a lot about retention of employees. It is good to retain good employees because they can help grow you business but they also will help inspire other employees to do better too. To retain some employees such things to offer are bonuses, schooling opportunities, and vacation days.

The big thing about termination that I took away is that you need to worry about the laws that could hinder you from receiving legal ramifications. You need to know everything that is going on with the individual make sure you terminate them because they are poor performers or failure to abide by the proper procedures. You also need to ensure all paper work and outboard documentation is done.

Training is very important to a company because it promotes positive enforcement in the company. It shows that you are an employee based culture and you like to push them forward and care about their chances of promotions. This promotes a stronger work force and more knowledgeable employees.

The fair labor act law has taught me a lot about the laws that have that abide for people in the workforce. I learned that the you have to be paid overtime if you are salary and you still work over 40 hours a week. The only thing that stops that is if you sign a exempt form. I have actually instructed people to check because they have been working extra hours with out being exempt form the overtime and have not been getting paid.
