It requires a lot of patience. They seem to honour recycling more than we do.The wordworking by hand with the gloves to protect the hand is also spectacular -- the work it takes. Also the final product is 3 things in one -- three artisans -- the dyes, the woodwork and the fabric all made by hand! The cloths in the beginning were worn at funerals. They are now also worn at funerals but if they are printed on bright colors they can be worn to weddings or any kind of celebration. Some people wear kente cloth to special celebrations but it is expensive so if you cannot afford it you can wear Adinkra cloth Which is less expensive.
