There are people who has number 4 as their lucky number. But most of the time Chinese will avoid using number 4, because the pronunciation of the number in Chinese is close to the word 'death'. 

If you notice, hotels or malls that are owned by Chinese usually change the number 4 to '3A' or '13A'. They believe that number 4 will give them bad luck.
