white: used to mean ur apart of the kkk/nazis or ur just racist but has been reclaimed and is now (usually) worn by openly anti-racists!!!

blue: used to be u killed a cop. now often worn as anti-police brutality and to signify a want for peace (dw u PROBABLY wont get arrested 4 wearing these) (hobie wears these!!!!!)

red: NAZI!! AVOID THESE PPL!!! people usually wear these laces to signify that they're violent (to poc) and are gross people 😃 (obviously not everyone who wears red laces is a nazi, a lot ppl dont know the meaning)

yellow: ANTI-RACIST worn by actually decent people!!

purple: gay/queer (originally worn cuz ppl couldn't be openly gay)

green: neutral, u don't stand for anything in particular :l

black: default color for docs. usually if you're wearing the default color lace for your shoe they don't mean anything

theres more colors and more meanings but these are the basics. these meanings can also differ depending on your subculture and the area ur in. lace code isn't taken as seriously nowadays so wear whatever color you want. its mostly just a way for punk ppl/skinheads to silently communicate their views and ideals (so it means more if ur in a very punk centred area AND ur punk urself) (also the way you tie your laces can also mean something but thats a whole nother thing!!!)
