Treaty of Versailles

The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty signed to end World War One. It was signed by a cornered Germany and the Allied Nations. The treaty was meant to stop and prevent another war of that scale to ever break out again. But, it only led to part two breaking out twenty years down the line.

The treaty was really just blaming everything that happened on Germany, and punishing the country for what it had caused, which were hundreds of thousands of deaths in numerous countries, scarring an entire new generation, etc. The punishments for Germany were that they were to surrender their overseas colonies to the League of Nations, along with some of their own territory. This led to mass devastation in Germany; poverty, hyperinflammation, and scared people wondering how they were going to feed their families. x

Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany

A little while after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, and Germany was still in a major slump. Their economy was still in the dumps, and a strong and passionate leader was missing from their country.

But, then came a man that wanted to fix all of that, and fit the profile: Adolf Hitler. Having fought in the first world war himself, he had a first hand experience of what happened, and the anger and compassion to make Germany great again. He prompted to fix Germany's economy and get the people back on their feet.

Because of the people's fears, Hitler rose to power fairly quickly because of his strong ideas and his charismatic nature. But, Hitler's facade turned quickly into his antisemitist agenda, and revealed his true nature and plans. Those plans quickly led to World War Two. x

"He who would live must fight. He who doesn't wish to fight in this world, where permanent struggle is the law of life, has the right not to exist" (Hitler, 163).

This quote from Hitler's own book, Mein Kampf , shows Hitler's strong personality that persuaded and convinced the people of his leadership. He prompted the fight for Germany, to take back what was rightfully theirs.

It was quotes like this that really won over the German people.
