  • Water vapour increases as the Earth's atmosphere warms, but so does the possibility of clouds and precipitation, making these some of the most important feedback mechanisms to the greenhouse effect.
  • Carbon dioxide is released through natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions and through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. 
  • A hydrocarbon gas produced both through natural sources and human activities, including the decomposition of wastes in landfills, agriculture, and more.
  • On a molecule-for-molecule basis, methane is a far more active greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, but also one which is much less abundant in the atmosphere.
  •  A powerful greenhouse gas produced by soil cultivation practices, especially the use of commercial and organic fertilisers, fossil fuel combustion, nitric acid production, and biomass burning.
  • All of these greenhouse gases form to trap all the heat from the sun and stop it from exiting Earth. 
  •  Forests and bushland act as carbon sinks and are a valuable means of keeping global warming to 1.5°C.
  • Electricity generation is the main cause of carbon pollution in Australia because 73% of our electricity comes from burning coal and 13% from burning gas . The remaining 14% comes from renewable energy sources like hydro, solar and wind, which do not emit carbon pollution .

     Destroying different ecosystems, example: Coral reefs bleaching, causes animals in the sea to loose places to thrive and hide from their predators, then it connects to the other creatures that thrive on that sea creature.
     The temperature could rise 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century.

    A1. There are many thoughts about global warming. Many people (like scientists) think that global warming is a very big problem and we have to stop it before it's too late. But some people also think that global warming isn't  very important, and continue what they are doing right now, destroying our planet. But if they continue it will soon effect us and we will all get influenced by our own actions. This even effects other ecosystems too.

    Q2. How can we stop global warming before it's too late?
    A2. Some of the things we could do to stop global warming:
    - Use less air con to reduce the greenhouse gases.
    - Try and use less things that include burning fossil fuels
    - Use more solar powered devices.
    - Support different organisations and raise awareness to other people like family members and friends.

    Q3: Has global warming gotten worse in the past century?
    Yes, The Earth’s temperature has risen 1.2-1.4 degrees Fahrenheit in the last century.
