2. a lot of people got close with others even across zoom and 1CMs and 2CMs got to connect across corps years more than in the previous couple years
3. sometimes collaborative spaces didn't always seem as purposeful or CM-driven as I would have liked
4. I think I focused on bringing people together and offering lots of choice, but didn't focus on the CM-agency in purposefully leading their own development in the programming structures we had.

My vision for the last school year was that I was going to have this awesome, completely self-paced, blended classroom that emphasized student self-awareness and motivation. 
2. I pulled it off for one trimester. 
3. I went on maternity leave and everything flew away in the wind.
4. I believe that my administration wasn't particularly excited about what I was doing at the time... but the truth is that if I would have gone for it and created the materials for when I was gone... it might have had a shot at happening.

  • students often worked together and felt comfortable expressing emotions

  • I felt over-extended supporting my students in both individual and interpersonal problem-solving as many students entered school with few social skills and issues arose frequently; I became overwhelmed/burnt out early on in the school year and struggled with classroom management
4. What were some of the barriers that you believe affected your ability to enact your vision?
  • Unclear understanding of how to implement successful classroom management strategies for my grade level; strain due to teacher/sub shortage; additional stress and lack of consistency in routines/schedules/attendance due to continued pandemic
5. What are you hoping to gain from this workshop time today?
  • begin the upcoming school year with a clearer goal for classroom culture and concrete ideas on how to achieve it
