One: Before ww2, Jewish people tried to flee on a ship called the MS st Louis knowing that the war was coming. Unfortunately, many countries turned them away, and they were forced to go back to England.

Two: This book is set in different time periods. ww2 times , 1990 and present day.

three: This book is also set in three different countrys. Germany, Cuba and Syria

One: I found it interesting that he found a way to meld three separate storys together, all in different times, into one book.

Two: I found it interesting, and sad, that there were more than 900 people on the MS st Louis, because when you have that many people on a boat for a long time, disease and sickness will start to spread.

I also didn't know the name of the ship the Jewish people took to escape the war.
