TIM model, or Technology Integrated Matrix this model has five characteristics of learning environments which are: active, constructive, goal-directed, authentic, and collaborative. This framework describes and targets the use of technology to enhance students learning. The main focus of this model is not learning goals but making sure students are using technology the ¨righ way¨.

This model has four levels are Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition. Substitution technology is being ¨substitude¨ with a traditional tool. Augmentation gives students tools with functional improvements. Modification technology is changing a traditional tool. Redefinition uses technology to create a new task.

They have similarities but they also have differences. For example, The Triple E extends this model TIM by integrating meaning full strategies to help students meet learning goals. The TIM framework helps meet learning goal but does not focuses on it. The other three expend on each other and the focus on the learning goals integrating technology tools to support it.
