Schools have to put in support to help you in education you should also have say in your education and have a voice the school should also have a designated ALNco whose responsibility will be to put this support in place to further support you this is fully inclusive another part of this process is an individual development plan this means that the school will sit down with you and your parents and discuss your needs this is all main policy changes that are part of the ALN code to further support children with additional learning needs

One system that supports 0-25 with simple and clear definition of ALN, IDP's that stay with the learner and are regularly reviewed to ensure consistent and appropriate support with a focus on inclusive learner centred approach.

The whole ethos of the code emphasises this learner centred/ child centred approach with children and their carers having the right to their say on how they will be supported. Improved staff training and introduction of ALNCO role to support early identification of needs.
