We are delighted to be able to offer up to £100 reimbursement for delegates whose employers are unable to support travel costs.

We hope that this travel bursary will enable colleagues in the VCSE sector and wider community to be able to attend. Simply indicate on the booking form that you require reimbursement and someone from the SCRiPT team will send you an expenses claim form. Please keep all your travel receipts to send with your claim.

The SCRiPT study is one of six capacity building in social care partnerships funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

Our aim is to develop sustainable regional and national capacity building networks to facilitate greater understanding, use and production of research in adult social care and to develop a culture of research and evidence-based practice and innovation.

This conference will bring the whole regional SCRiPT team together as well as other regional and national key stakeholders who can benefit from the findings from our project. The study ends this year and at the conference we will showcase our achievements, learning, and promote much needed networking to support the interaction and integration of research in adult social care.

As VCSE and wider community organisations are integral to Integrated Care Systems and are already working closely with local authorities, we feel that it important that VCSE organisations are part of the conversation around capacity building for research.

PCVS  was set up in 1980 as an umbrella and network organisation to the voluntary sector in Peterborough. We provide essential support to our 400 members, run a variety of targeted projects and broker cross-sector strategic relationships.

We run services aimed at improving health and wellbeing, building the capacity of individuals and groups to help some of the most excluded members of society, and providing the skills and support needed for many charities and community groups, big and small, to thrive.

The CEO will work with our key stakeholders and offer leadership and vision to the local voluntary sector. The successful candidate will articulate and deliver a passion and vision for enriching the local voluntary sector, supporting those most at risk, and championing equalities and social justice causes in Peterborough.

Cambridgeshire County Council are looking for volunteers in Peterborough to help with children and young people in care as part of Independent Visitor Services. An Independent Visitor is a volunteer who gives some of their time each month to support and befriend a child or young person in care who has little to no contact with their birth family or where it is considered to be in the child’s best interests.

As an Independent Visitor you will meet with a child or young person once a month to go out for social visits, share hobbies and interests and try new activities. You will befriend, mentor, and provide continuity in the life of a child in care and above all, have fun together!

Full training is given, along with ongoing support. To make sure all volunteers are suitable for the role they will be expected to undergo an interview, reference checks, training and an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB). The service reimburses volunteers out of pocket expenses and mileage.

This event will be an opportunity to learn about our new strategy for digital inclusion, its principles, ambitions, and methods of delivery. You will also hear from key delivery partners and get to network with colleagues across all sectors to share ideas and reflect on how digital inclusion work might affect you. 

The event will consist of a short introduction discussing the work of Connecting Cambridgeshire and the importance of digital inclusion, an overview of the strategy, a few further short presentations from delivery partners on their specific work, and finally an opportunity for attendees and speakers to network (full agenda to follow).
