My dad said to ask the person interviewing you about themselves and make sure you seem interested in what they're talking about as well, make sure to maintain eye contact, and avoid "um's." My dad's do's are, to wear a polo shirt tucked into dress pants, keep your beard groomed neatly, and if you have a long beard, make sure it's lined up nicely. More suggestions my dad gave is to also keep the conversation broad and not get too deep and personal like it's a therapy session, and explain why you're good for the job, but also don't keep going on and on about your achievements and sounding too arrogant, keep a balance and focus on showing your skills and experiences in a confident and humble matter.

Another person I chose to interview is my best friend's mom, I chose to interview her because she works at a hospital which is a professional workplace with a lot of responsibility, so the interviewing process could've been more nerve-wracking. Her advice was to speak clearly and loud enough, not interrupt them, wear bell-bottom pants with an appropriate blouse, and actively listen to the interviewer, asking them questions too.

She's had multiple experiences with the work force from both parties being the interviewee and the interviewer. So she has experienced both sides. For shirts and jackets I asked her what she would recommend or what she personally wears and she said a blouse that's not too distracting and a soft color pallet with a blazer on top that matches the color scheme. She also says to make sure any blouse is tucked in and to not look like Mrs. Frizzle (reference from the magic school bus) unless you're being interviewed for a kindergarten class. For pants she recommended black or gray trousers. She also recommends that ALL clothes must be ironed out with no wrinkles in them. For shoes she typically wears black pumps but if you decide to wear heels then she recommends something not too high. For Makeup she recommends something light and natural, and make sure to wear no flashy accessories. Overall she recommends someone to look put together and to have a clean look. She also suggests that you carry a resume with you on hand although they may already have a digital version, but you still need to look well prepared. Finally she suggests to come prepared with questions and arrive early just in case of traffic and difficulty parking.

Interview Part Two:

For my second interview I interviewed Coral. She is an on campus therapist here at ECV and she's had multiple work experiences. For a shirts and jackets she would normally have a nice blouse and a blazer, coat, or nice cardigan on top of it. She recommends something not too grundy. Pants wise she recommends slacks and dress pants, but wouldn't recommend a short skirt or dress. For shoes she typically wears flats, but says it also depends on where you applied and the culture of the work environment, and to make sure to dress accordingly to the place you're being interviewed for. For hair she recommends for hair to be out of your face, so they can see you, and she also recommends to have it curled or straightened or a half up half down hairstyle. She also recommends not to overdue perfume as it can be too much or distracting. For your overall appearance you should typically be put together, cleaned up, and put time into getting ready. Final DO's and DON'TS would be don't be late, be sure to be early. Make sure to follow up after the interview; with an email or a call, be sure to also ask questions during the interview so you look well prepared, and finally put your phone on silent.
