I would like to describe my school – Birstonas gymnasium which is only 10 km away from where I live and it takes 10 minutes to get there by car. Even though there is another school near my home let me give you the reasons why I like my school best.

Firstly, Birštonas gymnasium is quite a contemporary building. Most classrooms are well equipped and airy. Most classrooms have their own smartboards and projectors which is extremely useful for teachers and students during classes. It is much easier and more fun to learn when teaching subjects are visualised.

Secondly, our school is a fairly compact place. It is not difficult to get from one point to another since all necessary school facilities are under one roof which is quite comfortable especially in winter season. Despite the fact that it sometimes gets very crowded, particularly the corridors and the canteen during the break time, it feels cosy anyway.

To sum up, I’m very proud of my school. I would recommend it to anyone who cares about their modern and high level of studying.

Monika Pociūtė

Describe Your School.

Young people spend most of their time at school. Eventually, they begin to feel a part of it and consider school as their second home. I’m not an exception either. And there are several reasons why I find my school as my second home.

First of all, my school tends to be surprisingly contemporary. All class rooms have been renovated over the past two years. As the latest technologies have been installed and the class rooms have been modernized, the teachers are trying to keep up with them. They try to explore new ways of teaching using all available technologies.

Secondly, it’s a place full of knowledgeable and professional teachers. The school’s ratings over the past four years have experienced a rapid ascent and our school has developed a reputation for being one of the greatest schools in Lithuania.

Finally, our school provides (offers/creates) a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Since our school is full of attentive pupils, it is never too noisy or intense. Considering that, you can always find a place to relax or to study quietly.

To sum up, it is true to say that I find my school as my second home, since it’s modern, peaceful and liberating.

Diana Čepulytė

Describe your capital city.
Give at least two reasons why you like it or don’t like it.

Vivid and lively capital city -Vilnius, which is located in the southern part of Lithuania, is the biggest and busiest city in Lithuania. Vilnius is acknowledged for being a touristy city that attracts plenty of people of different nationalities due to its variety of activities and sights to see.

The first reason I like Vilnius is for its historical beauty that our capital city is famed for. Vilnius is an eye- catching complex of bright baroque buildings, impressive and exquisite churches and inviting alleyways. Two most captivating masterpieces ever built are Gediminas Castle and the Hill of Three Crosses. Moreover, numerous impressive museums can be visited in Vilnius, that would improve the foretime perception of Lithuania, as well.

The second reason why I like capital city -Vilnius is that people can spend their spare time in plentiful ways. For peace lovers, there are picturesque and vibrant parks, where people can get away from the hustle and bustle. Vilnius caters for couples as well. Whenever you wish to dine with a lover, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice in Gediminas avenue, where cafes are worth visiting. Also, the choice of theatre is wealth and there’s no end of plays to see.

Vilnius is a must to see city, because of its unique charm. I recommend checking this capital city out and get unforgettable memories.

Every country has a city renowned for its history, sights and culture. Lithuania has that kind of city as well. It is our capital city Vilnius, which is situated in the southern part of Lithuania. The city is of huge importance to every Lithuanian and there are several reasons why.

Firstly, Vilnius is rich in its history. It dates back to the 14th century when Vilnius has been mentioned as a capital for a first time.

Secondly, Vilnius is also best known for its sights. It offers stunning views of the Old Town, the hill of Three Crosses, the Cathedral and other architectural masterpieces. What is more, if you have had your fill of culture, you are welcome to relax and enjoy the stunning sites of the river Neris.

Finally, Vilnius is renowned for its cultural life.

Describe your school. Give at least two reasons why you like it or don’t like it.

School is a place, where pupils are basically living at for 12 years. A lot of students are not satisfied going to school, but as far as I am concerned, I really enjoy my school for different reasons.

The first reason why I like my school is, that most of the teachers give their hearts out to
prepare independently for their future. Teachers share their knowledge, time- tested experience and stay extra hours after the school to explain subjects that is hard to understand.

The second reason why I enjoy being at school is, that pupils are being taught to cooperate and work in teams. Students are split into groups to do assignments and make certain projects, therefore pupils are being taught to make compromises and take responsibility not to let down their team members.

The last reason why I like my school is, that pupils have a chance to visit a foreign country and meet their pears abroad. My school takes projects that involve cooperation with schools in Denmark and Germany, clearly students expand their point of view and the circle of friends by visiting foreign country.

Taking everything into consideration, I like my school because, it is the place that teaches to cooperate and work in teams, as well as prepares responsible and wise individuals.

Miglė Žurauskaitė

I truly enjoy Birstonas since it is an escape from noisy surroundings, has many activities to offer and festivals to enjoy.

To start with, I love this city with every fibre of my being due to its nature- it helps to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
