My favourite webtool is Edmodo!

http://www.edmodo.com/ Among all the webtools I like “Edmodo” the most because it’s a platform  similar to Facebook that is very popular. Edmodo is a learning platform that allows you to treat  your class as a virtual group. Since you need a personal password in order to access Edmodo it seems to be a safe working environment.

What I think about extensive reading

I have learned by experience that we learn to read by actually reading. Extensive reading is all about encouraging, in this case second language learners, to read as much as possible. That’s why I’ll try to practice extensive reading with my students but, since they have special needs, I won’t be able to do it in English. I’ll have to try in Italian because it’s the only language they understand and could and should keep learning. It will be challenging but it’ll be worth it.

CLIL and technologies by Patricia La Scola

New technologies influence the way users approach learning. Mostly people think that it’s quite difficult to achieve a certain level of results in language acquisition, content learning and improvement of learning skills

Using technologies could help improve the results with our students. Thanks to new ways of teaching with computer support students can interact with the multimedia material and pay more attention to the lesson that will be learned in a more efficient way. Nowadays, students are part of social networks and interact by using their computers and their phones most of the day. So, why not take part of all this by taking advantage of the fact that the students will learn something in the way the prefer to.
