Text to world: this is reminder that things can change if you and everyone try. Climate change or any cause, can be impacted when people stand up. Anyone can have their voices heard if they try.

T-S: Even though I find almost nothing in the book relatable, I have seen many pictures of people protesting. 

T-T: The book ‘Stand Up! Speak Up!’ reminds of the text ‘Day Break’ because both texts had a similar purpose. The book Day Break was about how aboriginals wanted thier land back and the book Stand Up! Speak Up! was about climate change. Both texts relate to land and the state people are living in.

 

T-W: This book reminds about how there are lots of protests and arguments to stop climate change. Leaders from all over the world have launched a mission to stop climate change by 2050.

In her everyday process (e.g that her wakes up, dress up, eat up etc) I do that stuff when like when I get ready for school also on the weekend.

So in the world there are a large group of people protesting for something they don’t like or they don’t want to do

In the book there are vegetables and in the other any other book I read there was a market full of vegetables 

This reminds me of going to school with my friends and looks like there going to a protest and everything there saying they want to change the future and it’s in green so I’m inferring that there talking about plants and save the earth it’s probably trying to in courage and state that you should stand up and speak up on page 12 in this case she is standing up and speaking up and on page 13 I think

The phrase “meet up “from stand up speak up touches on when I went to a climate change protest in Melbourne. Everyone had posters up to protest.

It went for a really long time at the end an Aboriginal man was talking about it.

This book Stand up speak up is talking about a world issue that is happening right now in the world . I get really worried about it because I think the world will end really soon.

It annoys me that the government is not doing anything about it. Even though they said they were doing something. One of the things I think we need to do is ban plastic cutlery.

The text “Stand out! Speak out!” Reminds me of the text commonwealth since they share the same purpose, which is to say we need to change things.

Commonwealth is saying how we should inform more people about Aboriginal history and Stand up Speak up is talking about how we need to inform people about the climate change and that we need to stop it.

The text Stand Up Speak Up makes me think about when I was learning about Greta Thunberg in grade 4 and how she is very good and wants to make an impact on climate change and I like how she isn’t nice about it but she is actually mad and expresses it loudly.

The text Stand up Speak up makes me think about climate change in real life and how it’s a very bad impact on our world and that this is our only earth, and I’m very sad that no government is trying to make a change, and even though there are so many people protesting, the governments don’t care and they mostly jus

This book made me feel very happy because that the girl actually persuaded the people to do something about climate change. In real life, some people are trying to help climate change, but the people who litter and doesn’t care about earth, they should know how much damage they are doing to the planet earth.

The theme of this book used a lot of colour green. The colour green related to the colour green of the earth. It made me feel happy that they used the colour green because that is also the colour of the environment like trees and bushes.

This book related to an article I read online. The article also told us about helping climate change and the environment. The article also had some tips to help us recycle plastic and it also had articles about the little people who changed the world like at the end of this book.

Text to text Connection I once read a book called how to be a change maker which shared many themes such as people making a Change.

My text to world connection is about the pollution and climate change. Firstly the pollution is affecting the world and we are the cause of this. If we don’t stop this now life on earth will be in danger. Some people don’t care and know how powerful a plastic bag can do to the environment. Also it takes a thousand years for a plastic bad to break down. Secondly the climate change is affecting wildlife and habitats. This comes from the smoke from our gas powered cars. This is impacting the earth dramatically each day and second.

 My text to self connection is what we are doing today at school. Our year 5 teacher Cat, is now starting to put down compost bins for all the years but mostly year 5. This makes me feel great that people and teachers are making a tiny change to the world. If we all do this then pollution and climate change could decrease rapidly. This makes me wonder if other schools are doing this or doing more then us? Should we go higher in changing the school and world?

My text to text connection is, speak up and stand up to Black Lives Matter. Because the quote from Black Lives Matter book “we are here and we are enough.” This sentence makes me infer that you need to speak up and change this world. This connects to speak up and stand up because the quote “rise up.” This means you should speak up and be brave. This makes me feel good because I know that protesting can change the world in a very short time.

The sentence “rise up” makes me think of grade 4 when we listened to a girl do a speech about climate change and how people are greedy.

The last page where it has information on young people making change reminds me of the text Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls because Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls has information of people all around the world.

The picture on the tv of floods makes me think of the floods that happened in Queensland.

The Text “Stand Up Speak Up” reminds me of Greta Thunberg and how she some of the worlds biggest politician’s especially on page 13 when she talks to a lot of people.

The Text  “Stand Up Speak Up” reminds me of the text “when we say black lives matter” because both the texts have protesting in them .I believe that most people should join good protests if you don’t want the world to end.

The book stand up and speak up made me think of real life and how there are lots of protests every day all over the world about climate change and lots of other good things.

I know that on earth that in 17 years there will be no tomorrow that’s what there protesting about. On page 8 it shows different world disasters that can be influenced by climate change. In the upcoming election the Green Party wants to fight the crisis harder like on page 15 where there all where working together to protect our world.  Also on page 15 there was a beach clean squad which reminds me of the Great Barrier Reef problem.

     

I try to instead of recycling milk cans I cut them in two and turn them into plant holders. My love for plants is what I thought of when I read the sign United by nature guided by Science. 

I read a book called 25 ways to save the planet where they had 25 ways to help the planet as in the title so when I read this book it reminds me of it.

T-W This reminds me of when mrbeast did #teamseas so it’s were if you donate these robots take trash out the see 1$ =1 pound and they raised over 30mill

Text-to-text: this text reminds me of another text which is an information report about Greta thunberg and all her speeches and both of them are informing us about how climate change it getting worse and the character in the “stand up speak up” seems to be young as well as greta which makes them both very young people who take actions to change the world.

Text-to-world:  I relate this to the world because I have seen a lot of protests and been to a lot of protest and I see lots of climate change on the news at home and especially BTN. I can also relate this to the world because there are lots of young people starting to take actions which makes me hopeful for the new generations that we will take more action than the older people

Text-to-self: I can relate to this because I have been to a protest before and they also had lots of signs. It was very similar to the one in the book.

TW: There have actually been lot’s of protests towards climate change and there are some famous saying tat are regularly put on signs.

TS: I’ve seen lot’s of protests on tv at home.
