Early Childhood

In my early childhood my mom would often read to me and my siblings. My dad was in the Navy so he would send videos of him reading so that we could see and hear him.

Early Elementary School

In early elementary school I read lots of books like Junie B. Jones since the story lines were good and they were on the easier side to read. Also, these books just made me feel connected to Junie B. Jones. This is also where I found that I could read hard books.

Upper Elementary School

This is when I started reading a lot of things and having to learn to really write with good intentions. These are the years that I started to hate reading books and struggled with reading because I thought what I wrote was good but I would be judged hard for my writing.

Middle School

Middle School was rough for me because I was being told what I had to read and along with reading came writing book reports and papers over my papers but also the grading on wether the paper was good or not also came in middle school. I also recieved the worst comment that my writing sucked and that I was stupid and that a kindergartner could have did a better job then me. Middle school sucked!

High School

High School started out rough because I was learning during covid and my reading and writing sucked because I just used the internet for everything. When I returned to in person classes things got better because I had supportive teachers who helped me to correct my papers and helped me to understand what I was reading. This is also where I found my passion for teaching.

College

I have found that my reading and writing has gotten better but I still struggle but I love reading children's books so that exciting.
