yoo jimin was born into an ordinary family, one that lived modestly but peacefully until one day - without warning , she was kidnapped and sold by the strangers who saw her not as a human being but as something to be traded for money. from that moment, it was a night mare for jimin herself, she was too young to understand.

the household that she was brought into was not a home - but a place of quiet suffering. the family was in poverty, and whenever they got frustrated, they took it out on her. she was still a kid back then, but nobody cares about her that time. she became an easy target for them. harsh words, insults soon turned into physical abuse and neglect become something she's used to.

her body is malnourished because of lack of meals, she learned early on that survivals means silence. though she tried to escape more than once, her fragile body , weakened by malnourishment and exhaustion often betrayed her. each failed attempts only cause her in harsher punishment, until even the thought of running began to feel impossible.

years passed like that, until jimin could no longer remember what it felt like to be loved. then at the age of eighteen, everything seem to change. her biological family found her.

for the first time in years, jimin was thankful, hope bloomed in her chest. she allowed herself to believe that this was the end of her suffering. then perhaps, after everything, she would be welcomed back into a family that had missed her, that had searched for her all this years, that would hold her and tell her she was home, and safe now. the thought of her real family bring warmth within her chest.

but of course, fate has different plans.

the hope and the fate that she was praying for - unfortunately could be just as cruel as despair.

her returns was not what she had dreamed of - there were no tearful embrace, no apologies for the years she had lost, instead she was met with cold and cruel facts. her presence in that household had a purpose - and sadly - it had nothing to do with love or the genuine care she had hope. jimin discovered from her parents, she had only been brought back to serve as a blood donor for her younger brother who is sick right now. to them, she was not a daughter who had suffered, but a solution to their issue.

despite that, jimin tried. she tried to be understanding and to convince herself, that maybe - just maybe - if she stayed, if she followed their words, if she endure a little longer, they would eventually see her as family. she gave her blood without complaint despite it broke her body, her body grew weaker, even when the doctor tell her parents, that they couldn't take her blood anymore bc her body is weak, they still wants her blood for the damn transfusions. she was hoping. the least she can ask for their genuine care.

but nothing ever came.

when she tried to reached out, hesitantly for their affections, she was met with their cold indifference. her presence was tolerated but not cherished. the realization settled slowly, painfully. that she had not returned to a home - but to another kind of a cage.

and this time, she refused to stay.

one night, with that little strength she had left, jimin left the house without looking back. there were no goodbyes, only a quiet determinations to never allow herself to be used again. she didn't know where and how she would survive but for the first time in her life, the choice was hers.

starting over wasn't easy for sure, but jimin took on any job she could find - working long hours at flower shop, assisting in small clinic, taking shifts at cafe - anything that can allow her to survive financially. the works are exhausting but she knows better not to complaint. slowly she began to save some money, trying to pursue her study in designs.

she never gives up of her desire to learn, so education became her quiet escapes, something that could give her some peaceful mind. through her determinations, she applied for a scholarships to a local university, and it was the first time in her life, that something had gone right bc of her own efforts.

however, the university life, surely have it's obstacles. jimin remained reserved and quiet, she was cautious with people around her, to those who shows her kindness, she responded them the same, but of course not everyone is kind. again, she became an easy target for bullying. her silence mistaken for a weakness. her background is something that they mocked, yet jimin never fought back. not bc she couldn't but bc she chose not to.

causing trouble , or hurting others, these kind of things are something that she hate, thats why she endured everything they did to her. beneath her softness, jimins is not someone who demanded attentions, but she is someone that persist, no matter how heavy the burden is. she still holding onto the belief that - one day, she might finally find the life she deserved.
