The books does a great job combining humor with real world issues though sometimes the humor can get in the way of the severity of a situation. The book does a great job demonstrating how tyranny occurs by showing the slow build of the New Order and their gradual increase in power. At the end readers were left satisfied as a number of questions were answered such as what is the prophecy involving the Allgoods and if their parents were alive. Byron along with the Allgood end up staying with a large group of children some of whom have escaped and seen things that no kid should have to witness.
