To apply for our 2026 program, please refer back to this webpage on the first day of Term 4, 2025. All applications for the Taronga School Work Experience Program must be made by the school careers advisor.

We are reviewing the way the ABC is able to accommodate work experience placements for Year 10 – 12 students. The ABC careers website will be updated when details are confirmed later this year.

To ensure a range of students and schools have the opportunity to participate in our work experience program, there is a maximum of four students from the same school per week. Book in early numerous weeks available including 17 - 24 November 2025.

In order to be apart of SEA LIFE Sydney's Volunteering program you must: 

• Be at least 18 years of age 

• Able to commit to one day per week (Monday - Friday), for a period of 6 months

• Currently enrolled in Cert II or II Animal Studies or Cert III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care

• Require work placement as part of ongoing study

• Able to work between 7:30am - 4pm

Students in years 10-12, F3 can arrange work experience in the financial services industry for a few days through to a week during the holidays or the school’s designated work experience week. This is arranged with F3 through your school’s careers adviser on an as-requested basis.

An information pack is provided for each placement. It outlines the activities students may participate in, eligibility criteria and assessment questions to answer as part of the application process.

Starting from two weeks in length and taking place during the school holidays—they're perfect for any student interested in getting medical work experience abroad.

Our High School Work Experience Program is designed for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 that have displayed a genuine interest and passion for health and medical research. This three-day program is conducted by our dedicated Youth Engagement Coordinator, whereby students get hands-on experience in a working medical research laboratory and learn the introductory skills of a scientist.

Carrington has fully structured and supported work experience programs in place to assist students meet the requirements of their area of professional study.

Applications are now open for 2025 program placements.

The program is available for students in Years 10–12 and will be offered during Terms 3 and 4, over four possible weeks:

• July 28–August 1

• September 8–12

• October 20–24

• November 10–14

Among the duties students will have the opportunity to participate in during a work experience placement with the Visitor Services Teams.

Applications for 2025 open on 5 May.

The program is offered weekly during school terms. 

The four-day program is highly valued by students, parents and careers advisors. If students are interested in enrolling in the program, we suggest that they enrol as early as possible to avoid missing out.
