This place is important to me this is ethic Armenian land that was taken from my family. This is where my family is from, and they were forced to move out during the Baku pogroms in 1990. All of their belongings were destroyed and they were left without a home so they moved to Russia and then immigrated to the US in 1991.

I grew up around this local park and over the years, I have seen it change so much. It's like the park is changing and growing like how I've been for the past 18 years. And to see it so modernized and clean makes me think back to the days when it was so run down and barely anyone plays on it. But nowadays, there are kids and families who visit it everyday.

Living in LA shaped who I am because I really got to see the hispanic community and all the different cultural foods, music, and going to a predominantly hispanic high school really helped. I felt comfortable being surrounded by friends who were hispanic and not losing my culture helped shape who I am today.

I chose Orange, CA because that’s where I was shaped and I feel like it’s “my city” like not many people are from there, not saying it’s a small town but a lot of people stay there and I like to rep Orange and the OC.
