         <description><![CDATA[<div>His life is very much a tale of Rags to Riches. He was fortunate enough to go to school, but at the age of nine he had to leave due to his father being imprisoned for Bad Debt.<br><br>His mother and father were both sent to Marshalsea alongside their patriarch leaving behind Charles, from their he was sent to work at Warren's Blacking Factory and for the next 3 years he lived in appalling conditions, experiencing pain and loneliness.&nbsp;<br><br><br>He later returned to school at the age of 12, but he never forgot his experience and used it to write well-known books like The Great Expectations and David Copperfield.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>He began his career as a journalist and began with journals 'The Mirror of Parliament' and 'The True Sun'. He later began a career as parliamentary journalist for The Morning Chronicle. With his presence in the press and the many contacts he had made, he was able to publish a series of sketches under the pseudonym 'Boz'. Within that very month came the publication of the very successful 'Pickwick Papers, and from that point on there was no looking back for Charles Dickens.<br><br>As well as the extensive novel that he had published, he also edited weekly periodicals, wrote travel books and administered charitable organisations that helped clean up slums and helped really poor children.<br><br>He was also an avid playwright that wrote play's that were performed in front of Queen Victoria.<br><br></div>]]></description>
