At 12.30am, you receive a call from your resident who sounds sleepy but very upset. She says that her neighbour is hosting several friends, playing loud music and singing loudly in her room. The resident also complains that she can smell a strong raspberry aroma coming from her neighbour’s room.

You realise that the neighbour whom the resident is complaining about is Chloe, your close friend for the past 2 years.

You go to the room and find Chloe and 3 others in the midst of a karaoke session. In addition, all 4 of them are holding on to their vaping devices. Chloe and her friends see you and plead for a second chance on the account of the friendship, and ask that you do not report them to the Hostel RLO and OSA.

A returning resident from your floor, Farhan, retuned from summer vacation and discovered that a new resident, Egor had just moved into the same apartment.

Egor forgets to bring his room key out often and he always calls Farhan for assistance to open the apartment door for him at wee hours of the morning. Whenever Egor is back in Hostel every evening, he likes to connect his laptop to the TV screen in the shared living room space in their apartment, the sounds from his games at full blast. As Farhan’s room is closest to the living room, he can hear everything nightly. This disturbs Farhan’s concentration and sleep.

After 2 months of tolerating Egor’s inconsiderate habits, Farhan tells him that he is not willing to put up with it any longer and requests that he be more responsible and considerate. This agitates Egor, who then vents his anger by throwing things around the shared living room space in their apartment.

Farhan feels intimidated by Egor. Fearing for his life, he approaches you, his RA, for help.
