This statue was on the banks of the Rhone in Lyon, France in 2014 (when I presented at a conference there). It is called, "The Weight of One's Self." I loved both the artwork and its deeper meaning. Look closely, and you can see he is carrying himself.

Eric and one of his academic heroes, Edgar Schein. He allowed me to read his draft memoirs (all 5 volumes, only one published as of 2018) as part of my dissertation research, and then interview him afterwards. It was wonderful!
Among other things, Ed taught me to be comfortable with any mode of teaching. At 90 now, he still does webinars, and remains active professionally.
I try to reach students however it is best for them, face-to-face, online, via video conference (Zoom is my current favorite), or a mixture of them.

I am married and have a 14-year-old son named Danny to whom I will undoubtedly refer occasionally during the course. My family and I enjoy traveling, movies, and music. One of our most memorable trips was to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2017, the highlight of which was going to the Grand Canyon for a day. We drove to the West Rim of the canyon, took a helicopter to the bottom of the canyon, where we rode a boat on the Colorado River. Then the helicopter picked us up and took us to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, where we walked on a U-shaped glass walkway over the canyon (about 1000 feet up), and had dinner at the restaurant there. The Skywalk and the restaurant are on the Hualapai Native American reservation and run by the tribe, which combines conservation of the environment with access by many very effectively. Here’s a photo looking up from the river.
