They will be shown an example and then will have to create their own animal characters and story for their play. To push students out of the box I would have them create an imaginary animal character. It can't be an animal that already exists. Students will individually make their own animal characters and then split off in groups to create their own play with those imagined characters collaboratively. They then will perform these for their classmates.
