A creepy story with 80’s horror film vibes. After the brutal attack of her father, Lola, the daughter of a horror film director is sent to stay with a grandmother she doesn’t know in the town that her father filmed his creepiest movie with her mother as the star.

Harrow Lake is a strange town with creepy and not so friendly residents. Soon there are strange happenings and Lola begins to see things. Will she find out why her mother left her, will she find out who is following her, will she make it out of Harrow Lake and back to her father in New York?

Meet Enchanted Jones, a 17-yr old aspiring singer.  In comes Korey Fields, a famous R&B singer who shows interest in Enchanted.  She is flattered, star-struck, and ready to be a star.  

The book begins with Enchanted waking up with a headache in a room filled with what she describes and beet juice in pools, soaking the carpet.  She has no memory of what has happened. Did Enchanted kill Korey?  I love the glimpses into the present as Ms. Jones tells the story of Enchanted, how she met Korey and answers so many questions about how victims can stay in toxic relationships.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s an easy read where the most difficult words are the names of the mountains. I’ve always loved reading mountaineering books and this was no different. The book has a map of where all the peaks are located which is interesting, geography is a favorite subject of mine. The author has 

ambition, determination and focus which serves him well to be able to 

set goals and persevere - the main theme is that there will be challenges and set backs. Never give up on your dreams. I also noted an underlying theme that it takes a team of people to help achieve goals. Check this book out at your local library.
