Reflection on the translation process:

The source text contained many idioms, which always makes translation challenging. Afrikaans does not necessarily have equivalents to the idioms in the source text. Therefore, one has to ensure that the same message is conveyed even without these idioms. I also tried to include one idiom that conveys the same meaning in Afrikaans to keep the same tone as the source text. Translating idioms can be very challenging, but it is definitely possible.

I was not being able to recognise
the idioms on that phrase. In order to find an equivalent meaning for these idioms and fixed expressions in the Target language 'Afrikaans' I had to keep the meaning these phrases are trying to convey in it's source language. So in the target text I would write the meaning they are conveying as suppose as writing them as Idioms or fixed expressions. It is for the benefit of the reader. Because, if not the meaning of these phrases will get lost in translation.
