I think this is a powerful moment in the story, because it leads to how Gunnar tells them horrible news. Gunnar is in the backyard sculpting something. Then when Antsy sees what Gunnar’s making, “Gunnar was carving his own tombstone”. “Gunnar...that’s just... wrong” says Antsy. In this part it’s pretty dark yet somehow funny. So on page 47 when Antsy is getting a textbook Kjersten, the sister of Gunnar, was crying. She was also saying Antsy’s name. Antsy thought she was going to slap him but she did the exact opposite. SHE KISSED ANTSY!! She did that because she thought he was being thoughtful, which he is. But I’m sitting here reading the book, and when that happened I was in shock. Like what happened to Lexie? And all antsy has to do is do his geography homework! Skaterdud has only showed up in the book so many times but I do think that he will play a huge character at the end of the story. Especially because he gave one year of his life.
