It was a challenge at times to organize our schedules around the live meeting time. However, with this setup, we can access the information when it is convenient for us. We already have this time set aside for a live meeting; GCA gives us the time for K12 Training but could we use just 30 min of that time to complete the HS Highlight? The rest of the time could still be used for K12 training. I'm just trying to think of a way to not add yet one more live meeting time to our calendar. This way we are not trying to squeeze something in during lunch. Make it a praise/encouragement session. The current set up is essentially another PD smack in the middle of the day. Many teachers are just coming out of class/learner conferences or about them and the timing of it is poor. If we have to continue HSH in the current format,  make attendance optional. Most material is covered in the newsletter anyways. It is very informational. I like the current format of open office/actual session. However, I wish the actual session was more about recognition and not PD. It is difficult to drop everything and pay attention to a PD session right smack dab in the middle of the day...especially for teachers either finishing up a class or about to start one.

Perhaps the most aggravating things is that the presenters always read the slides word for word. I am an intelligent bloke and I'm quite capable of reading on my own. If someone is going to read to my word for word then why can't I just read it myself instead of listening to them read to me. Not every teacher needs to attend these. Could we create groupings similar to how we have in our classes. I would say learn something, have time to play with it, and then at the next meeting the share time should be about the previous topics/best practices learned.
