Crystal, I really like how you gave us a concept diagram that outlines the three major UDL principles. It gives me a full understanding view of what the principle's are all about now. REPRESENTATION shows us that we need to give various ways of learning for the student's success, EXPRESSION provides alternate choices for demonstrating what they learned, and ENGAGEMENT shows us that if you tap into a learner's interest and challenge them accordingly, you can motivate them to do their best. I think this is what all teachers need to remember as we're working for the students' best interest and nothing else.

Crystal,

I love how your page emphasizes a lot of information on the UDL teaching approach. It is evident this lesson allowed you to master the overall make up of the UDL method. It is true there are 3 primary
principles for UDL which are: representation, expression and engagement. Representation gives the student ways to acquire the information. Expression provides alternatives way to demonstrate what they know and Engagement helps the student with activities to get a sense of the content. All of these principles are something teachers need to know and apply in the field and I can tell you understand them very well.

Another idea would be to create individual student profiles that would include their strengths, needs, and dislikes. This could help when implementing UDL into lessons and assignments. As future teachers we should become familiar with these in order to advocate for our students.
