At the time, there were segregated areas (mainly in the south) that were designated between black and white people. There was commonly a difference in quality with African American areas not having as much quality. African Americans were also commonly lynched, which was attempted to be covered up by the press. There were threats that were given to African Americans by white people.

Ida B. Wells was an African American reporter who wrote articles against African Americans being lynched. However the press gave everyone a reason for it.

-W.E.B. Dubois

William Edward Burghardt Du bois helped start the N.A.A.C.P., worked there for 24 years, and then left in 1948.

There were several things that were done to work against racism. Including making articles, organizations, or just convincing people that segregation was going on. There was a;so improved education among African americans

Today racism isn't as much of a problem. However, there is still some discrimination against other races. They can often be treated worse or given less.

The N.A.A.C.P.C. is still around today and still going against racism. It also goes into other issues like job inequality, education, criminal justice, and voting rights.

There are new policies being put into place that are intended to reduce racism. The overall goal of this is to give equal treatment to everyone.

The N.A.A.C.P. is still running today and working against racism. Though it isn't focused around racism anymore, it still is one of the main organizations that help.

Not as much needs to be done today but the u.s. Is still making policies to keep racism at a minimum. There are also some protests over racism as of now.
