I personally think it does. There is so much posted online about "7 signs your partner is cheating" and it will be stuff as simple as not responding to a text within 1 hour. Sometimes people are busy and cannot respond immediately. Additionally, you do not have to be talking to your partner 24/7/365 to have a healthy relationship. Forcing pessimistic thoughts into the heads of people can cause them to worry, which in turn can cause them to overthink and destroy their relationship that was perfectly fine before. I think social media has its positives but when it comes to relationship advice, I strongly recommend staying away. I think one way you could approach researching this is by looking at statistics of failed relationships before and during the times of social media. You could also look at news reports or interviews of people who have been strongly affected by social media and how they are without it.

2) Should the NFL require players with a concussion history to wear guardian caps?

I think the NFL should after a certain amount or the severity of previous concussions. Players such as Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (26) have suffered multiple hard concussions at young ages which can drastically alter their head state. Repeated blows to the head can cause Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), which is a degenerative disease that can cause memory loss, blurry vision, and slurred speech. Players such as Luke Kuechly and Antonio Brown have been forced out of the NFL due to health issues surrounding CTE, and it is a shame to see so many players retire young due to injury. Guardian caps are foam pads that are added to the outside of the helmet to prevent hard hits and have proven to decrease the number of concussions. A way you could approach researching this data is looking at other players who have retired early due to head trauma or the statistics of guardian caps and how effective they are.

3) Does rap music with obscene language influence younger generations to break the law or to develop harmful habits?

I think it does, but not as much as some people think. I personally enjoy rap, and I do not think about going out and participating in gang violence after listening to my favorite Kendrick Lamar album. A good amount of rap songs are a piece of art that have a deeper story behind the lyrics, some examples of this are in some of Childish Gambino and Kendrick Lamar's songs. However, some rappers only rap about drugs and guns because they think it's cool and that gang life is the life they want to be a part of. If they want to be a part of that life then that is up to them, but I do not think parents should allow young children to listen to songs about mass genocide just because it "has cool beats". I think a way you could approach this would be to look at data trends of convicted teens and compare them to data trends of teens listening to explicit rap.

Should schools get rid of homework and is homework beneficial to students. I believe schools lack homework especially in middle school and high school. I believe homework sets students for success and helps them develop responsibility, and a sense of self discipline they need later in life. Why do schools not enforce homework anymore?

Should mental health be taught in school to bring awareness. I believe that mental health should be taught in schools as a mandatory class. It is something that still many students and young people do not quite understand and understanding mental health can benefit everyone. Why is mental health not taught in schools?

In recent years, abstract social media forms such as memes have been overturned. This recent upturn of generational memes, based on the oversaturation of media circulating, is the ironic downfall of artificial intelligence and human nature in general. This begs the question of who started this movement of this deserved yet soulless mockery. Why did this uprising even begin? Where is this humor going to direct the trivial culture that is progressing or failing American values?

In the current public education system the government decides what is taught. But is that information intentionally biased to make the government seem more favorable? With the rise of individuals attending and graduating from post-secondary institutions, have college degrees started to become obsolete? In certain aspects I agree, having a degree does increase your chances of higher paying jobs, but there is also supply and demand for the degree in different career fields. 3. Do younger generations have any truthful role in politics, or is it controlled by older generations?

It seems the people in power stay in power no matter their age in American politics, so do the younger generations have any truthful input? It is my opinion that the younger generations do have a role, but are dissuaded from participating in politics due to dissatisfaction with the status quo. Sources such as Young Voters Have Growing Power, but Broken Politics Leave Them ‘Fatalistic,’ Studies Find by Edward Lempinen on the UC Berkeley Research website supports this argument.

2 - Should social media be limited to only people of a certain age? I chose this topic because recently parents have become vocal about their concerns that young kids are getting addicted to social media. In my opinion social media should be limited to people under 16 years of age. I believe this because it's very easy for kids to become addicted to things like social media. Social media works in similar ways to addictive substances. Those are banned from young kids, so why is this any different? To find evidence I'd look into news articles that cover this topic.

3 - Should community colleges have free tuition? I believe they should have free tuition so that more people can attend them. Many want to learn but can't afford to. So I believe we should offer free tuition for community colleges to offer people more options. Making these free wouldn't even lose too much money as the 4 year universities earn plenty. To gather evidence I'd look at articles which cover this topic from both sides of this debate.

 The privization of Nasa and space exploration is a complex matter that I chose because I wanted to delve deeper into the research of this topic. I personally feel that Nasa is incredibly useful to the public, providing significant scientific research and discoveries that may not be as easily accomplished if privated. I also feel that it is important to take care of our planet, before exploring options of inhabiting others (Mars for example).  I would love to look into the counter arguments towards this topic, and see if there truly are benefits to priviating exploration, and the possibility of life on mars. 

Should schools incorporate life skills into their curriculum?

I personally always wished we offered some sort of home ec class, due to the fact that it teaches vital life skills that students will carry into their adulthood. If schools had a mandatory class or instruction that taught skills such as cooking, housekeeping, and child development ultimately students will feel more prepared and maybe learn new things that they did not get taught at home. I can see the challenges with the possibility of such a complicated course, and I would like to further inspect the reasoning for getting rid of home ec.

(PAD) is a highly controversial and ethical topic. With the growing interest in end-of-life care and individual autonomy, I’ve chosen to explore whether PAD should be legalized across all U.S. states. This is a topic that resonates with me, especially in the context of personal freedom, compassion, and the rights of individuals to make decisions about their own lives and bodies.
Current Position:
I believe physician-assisted death should be legal in all U.S. states for terminally ill patients who are experiencing unbearable suffering. I feel that, in these situations, individuals should have the right to make a decision about how and when they want to die, with the guidance and support of their physician. However, I am aware that concerns about potential abuse and the need for strict regulations are key aspects to consider.

Topic 3: How the Justice System Fails in Rape Cases

Current Position:

I believe that the justice system in many countries, including the U.S., does not do a good job on addressing the realities of rape cases. Too often, survivors are subjected to secondary trauma through intrusive cross-examination, invasive questioning, or disbelief by law enforcement and courts. The system benefits the accused due to the high burden of proof required for conviction, leaving many rapists free from accountability. Additionally, the rape culture and widespread misconceptions about sexual assault further perpetuate the systemic issues that plague these cases. For example, the burden of proof often unfairly shifts to the survivor, with questions about their behavior or clothing instead of focusing solely on the actions of the accused. This approach undermines the survivors' credibility and leads to cases being dismissed or resulting in very low conviction rates.

I also believe that there needs to be more support for survivors throughout the legal process. For example, advocates for survivors should be present during legal proceedings, and survivors should have access to counseling and legal support to navigate the often intimidating and retraumatizing criminal justice process.

2) Should America rely less on chemically altered food? Chemically altered food can mean anything from specific breeding with chemical nutrients through growth, or just a plain outrageous amount of chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, and neurotoxins. Chemicals layed on the food to keep bugs away and grow the plant comparably to trenbolone acetate in cows. I myself just like eating normal farm raised food without chemical alteration due to a difference in taste, digestion, and natural abundance being better and plentiful.

3) Is our generation filled with blind followers? I definitely think our generation has lost any sense of individual thought. With the outrageous amount of mental health claims and identity switches within the past four years, it isn't a shocking idea to have. With degeneracy online being unrestricted, and disgusting imagery being allowed on live news broadcasts or during parades, our generation somehow thinks it to be wonderful. With online connections through Tik-Tok, Instagram, Snapchat, X, or even Facebook now, we can simply look around and see those we call friends follow what's currently popular. Not to say mental health isn't an issue, but overblown and under cared for so the attention is always on it.

• No, I don't think that cell phones should be used in schools for any purpose. In the time that we are in currently, there are countless resources and technologies that we can use in the same if not better way than cell phones

The use of AI in daily life has increased over the last 8-10 years. 73% of people use AI daily and don't even know it. Alrighims and codes now use AI to provide better services. It also decreases people's workload. On the other hand, there is now a fear of reliance on AI. People should know how to excel without tools. and use them when needed. It also seems tools have a limitless growth mechanism and how do morals play into the decisions in the future of it?

In many cases, gun violence is caused by the lack of mental acknowledgment of a person. I am not saying there aren't bad people in the world, but there are an extensive amount of young teens committing gun-related crimes. The restriction on guns seemingly has no effect just to the majority of crimes committed with illegally obtained firearms.

In today's world, most people's days revolve around their phones. Social media that once was made for connection is now meant for division. In the first five comments of a post at least 2-5 are going to be negative. The once endless information pull has now become tainted with lies and twisted truths. Does social media have any redeeming qualities?

Since the start of social media there has been more pressure on the users to post the best quality post of anything they are interested in or they will often be overlooked. Social media is also extremely deceptive because people can post pictures of the best case scenarios such as a fitness influencers, who can post pictures in the best lighting while claiming natural, which then when young teenagers are all of a sudden trying to gain the same or similar build and after years of trying are not able to, they then go into waves of depression. Social media also puts a newfound pressure onto relationships that are made public, and it leads both partners to try to be perfect, and inevitably when they are not it put a lot more stress onto the relationship, then what would have been there with out social media.

2) Is the amount of money going into certain college athletic programs taking away from the rest of the athletic programs?

I strongly believe Colleges unevenly divide there funding for athletic programs. This can be seen foremost in the SEC, where cross country and track have been heavily cut back on roster spots to keep up with the aggressive football programs. While programs that bring in more money should get more money in return they should not receive all of it because they take away from the quality of the other programs, this could be from taking away facilities, equipment, or even coaching by no longer having the funds to pay for a quality coach in these other programs which will completely destroy these programs. The funding of certain programs such as football has gotten so out of hand that even at some schools, such as Clemson they now have to charge a athletic fee for every student going even if they are in no sort of athletic spot.

I believe so because it is just to the families of the affected. It also inflicts no additional pain onto the death row inmates. Finally actions should have consequences and if this was not instilled it would lead to more violent crimes without the fear of this death penalty.
