The Pledge of Allegiance is a solemn oath of loyalty to America.
The Pledge was written in 1892. over the years it has been  changed the phrase one Nation under God was not added until  1954.

(I work in a school and we still allow both.) I believe that the Pledge of Allegiance should remain untouched. I am not saying to make everyone participate, if the student or family doesn't believe in this show of respect for our country then they don't have to participate. I do believe they should be respectful of others beliefs and stand. I also believe that if students wishes to pray before they eat or maybe even have a prayer group before or after school, at the school why not? What will it hurt? If that is their belief then let's let it happen. We have that right in America to worship. Some also say to get rid of the pledge all together. Also get rid of prayer.

The other part of our country wants to keep God in our schools. The pledge and prayer in our schools. Really? if we are the country that is free then why can we not say the pledge the way it is now. Why do our children get their rights taken away. We are free we should be able to pray in school.
