as demanded by consumers; thus, it is imperative for retailers to appropriately tailor
their online presentation of products. "

features on their website, such as animation, audio, video, and graphics, to provide
consumers a better online experience with respect to their e-commerce website
[65]. While the addition of such sophisticated and advanced features does impact
users, in certain product categories it could also lead to information overload and
distraction. As the final goal of retailers’ websites is a customer purchase (sale),
examination of the web interface design as to how it relates to the type of product
(price and complexity) and personal involvement of the consumer with the product
could provide insights into consumer online behavior and preferences."

Web interface design mainly differs in terms of the information cues (such as text,
pictures, graphics, animation, navigation, etc.) [11, 14], which in turn affects user
outcomes such as perceived website design quality, product knowledge/understanding,
attitude, and behavioral intentions [1, 41, 65]. The web interface design can be
considered as a dominant determinant of the consumer online decision-making
process [34] and has been addressed from multiple dimensions in the literature.
