He died while in custody of the police as he was restrained within an un-orderly and unnecessary way which lead to Sean Riggs death soon after his arrest that day. Cases are justified by looking into the public and private sector and who was accountable for their actions. When it comes the the Sean Rigg case many individuals was held accountable for his tragic death but through the public inquiry, the case was not solved with who was accountable. 
As Sean Riggs death was so sudden and unexpected, the public protested to find out what actually happened to Sean while he was in police custody. This means the police have found themselves in legal accountability due to the public interest and Sean Riggs family wanting answers. 
The death of Sean Rigg come as a huge shock to his family and they protested to find out what actually happened behind closed doors. Professional accountability comes into place here as his family has a right to do this. The professionalism of the police was not held accountable for which some of the public disagree with. Performance of the police was not assessed by anyone but individuals noticed that the professionalism within their performance was low and action should be taken on this. Their performance was poor because they acted on Sean Rigg in an unnecessary way and without restraint. The death of Sean could have been prevented if the police took notice on Seans personal life or simply handled him in a different more comfortable way. There is no excuse for the police to not of looked into who Sean was and what his physical and mental wellbeing was as he carried his passport around with him constantly so he defined himself incase of situations such as this case.
