I connect the most with the theme of Complexity of Identity and Native Identity because in the book, it talks a lot about identity, and race, and who they are / who they want to be / who they are becoming. The topics of race are starting to help me understand my identity better

I think the purpose of them having smaller chapters is them trying to squeeze in all of the characters and also keep a section for each of them to understand so I think its a small part of the book with them especially in it The theme of identify because we all got our identity and its interesting how others go about it

one quote that i felt that i connected with the most was “Orvil practiced his dance moves every day, determined to perform at the powwow no matter what"(pg:138). because it was talking about how Orvil was determined to do something no matter and I feel like I'm also determined to be a better photographer.

I think the purpose of the smaller chapters is so that they can all have there own little part in the book to give them a chapter so you can get to know them a little more

A quote that most stood up to me is “We're all so busy trying to get away from the pain we forget it's part of Who We Are” It stood out to me most because it is something I see quite a lot in the world, everyone looking for answers to things but forgetting why they look for answers in the first place, always talking about how they're hurting but never talking about why they're hurting, Or even when they do talk about why they're hurting it's not the real reason

One quote that stood out to me in is when Orvil reads about powwows online and thinks: “It was the kind of thing where you just had to be there to understand. That’s what he read anyway. That’s what everyone seemed to say.” This quote is important because it shows how disconnected Orvil feels from Native traditions.
