As I went to pick up the fish, I smelled the strong aroma of sea salt coated around it. It was filleted by my best friend and patiently waited as it loudly sizzled on the grill. He finished off the grilling by spraying lemon on it to invoke a massive flame from the cod. The texture on first bite was nothing like I have ever tasted before, like I was biting into a chicken bone with no meat. The outside tasted like powdery charcoal as it was on the grill for a long period of time.

Finally, I completed my dish to hear the satisfying crunch of the shell as I picked it up with its hard structure on the outside and many soft textures inside.

The artificially bright orange laying above a bed of rice blinded me. The revolting fishy smell entered my olfaction as I held back my gag reflex. The bite was soft and leathery and at a temperature that made me wonder how long it had been sitting out. I held back a sneeze as the wasabi’s spice hit my palate. The squishy noise that came with my chewing worsened the already bad eating experience.

The aroma of chocolate with a slightly nutty undertone fills the room even before these are done baking and the perfectly square cubes are packed with a mixture of sweet and fudgy pieces. They slightly crumble when picked up but when bitten into give way to a chewy yet soft center that melts in my mouth.

The bundle feels like a really weak piece of sandpaper, with small, coarse bits and pieces on the outside. However, the inside is soft and pillowy, acting as a shell for the other warm food inside of it. Encapsulated with wax paper, like a small circle with many things inside. When you open it, the layers of everything are apparent. In front of me, it feels like a full Sunday morning breakfast all in one paper bag. There are many different savory ingredients that you would see and smell on a table, perfectly wrapped up to taste and smell them all at once. Rumpling the paper, then biting into it, there is a combination of many savory flavors, all distinguishable. I hear a crunch when biting into it, then another at the core of the inside.

Anxiously waiting for my food, with my stomach begging me to feed it, a strong smell of truffle reaches my nose. The earthy and pungent smell makes my mouth start to water. I look up to see the waiter walking towards my table with my plate in his hand. As I take the first dig at the meal I can see the creamy sauce clinging to each strand. It melts in my mouth with the earthy flavor weaving through the sweetness of the cream.

Still damp from the fridge, it felt rubbery and firm under my fingers. Taking a bite into it I can hear the obnoxiously loud crack as the stem breaks off. As I begin to chew, it feels like bristles on the roof of my mouth. Its taste like I had taken a bite out of a patch of grass with its fibrous bits sticking stubbornly onto my teeth.
