Firstly, I assume most Chinese students believe extensive reading can somehow improve their language proficiency. However, they may find it hard to keep this habit due to several reasons. Such as high pressure on in-class learning and homework, so students can not have time to read extensively. In a word, students' beliefs on extensive reading may be inconsistence with their actions.
