I have always had difficulties doing this since I am learning this language. A very present topic in the last weeks is the coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19. This new virus finds its origins in China but expanded nearly on the whole world. COVID-19 spreads through a droplet infection from human to human. Not every sick person has the same symptoms, so it becomes even more difficult to recognise if one has this disease or not. Two symptoms that many have in common is cough and a high temperature. There is no medicine against COVID-19 itself, only the symptoms get treated. On particular risk of dying because of the coronavirus are people at the age of 60 and above as well as people with pre-existing conditions. Particularly affected are the countries China and Italy, but also in Austria the number of new infections rises. Countermeasures to stop the spreading of the disease is washing hands, using disinfectants and, above all, avoiding masses of people.

Secondly, we shared our experiences and opinions on our learning journals on padlet.com. After that we learned more about the topic "genre" and reported what we already know about it due to our homework reading matter “Moffett et al (2014) chapter 3 – classifying academic text_genre”. In order to apply our newly acquired knowledge we analysed the texts we have read at home using the categories “function”, “purpose”, “audience” and “context”. At the end of the session we talked about the learning objective each one of us want to improve during this course.

In general you can say that Austria has a beautiful scenery, it is also famous for diversity and different cultures, rich with history and a lot of traditions. In summer the people spend the holidays visiting sights and lakes and in winter most of the people go skiing or relax at termal springs. We also have a lot of astonishing buildings eg: Habsburger destinations that also contain a lot of history: Hofburg, Schönbrunn Palace and Belvedere. 

Many famous classical componists were born and grew up in Austria: Mozart, Hayden, Bach, Schuber, Strauß, especially Salzburg is famous for Mozart. Everything is about him, any building that had impact on his life, his music of course and you can find on every corner shops that sell "Mozart balls".
Arnold Scwarzenegger was born in Austria and is a worldwide known actor, which we can very proud of.
        
Vienna: Loads of famous artists performing,
Lots of sights like St. Peters Cathedral or Prater (amusement park), Madame Tussauds, Schönbrunn - the castle and the zoo, 
There are a lot of Christkindlmarkets in December

In summer they are used to hike and in winter for skiing.

Reasons therefore are widespread beginning with thinking it is unnecessary to learn a new language only for using it a short time to thinking that you can meet foreign people online or trying their local food also in the tourist´s home country because of the nowadays mixed cultivation and the resultant continuously availability for international food. However, people need to become aware of the original concept of visiting a foreign country. People prepare themselves on different ways for a vacation in a foreign land; some do it online, others in real life.
