Task:

• Take a photo of the cathedral’s grand façade.

• Inside, find the modern stained-glass windows—what colors stand out the most?

• Locate the statue of Virgen de la Almudena and note what she is holding.

• On the way, find at least one statue of a Spanish king in Plaza de Oriente. Take a picture and write down his name.

• Spot the ornate lampposts in front of the palace. How many are in a row?

Checkpoint 3: Palacio Real

👑 Task:

• Take a picture of the palace’s main gate.

• Look up—what symbols or emblems can you find on the building?

• Bonus: If you spot the Royal Guards, describe their uniforms.

Checkpoint 4: Sabatini Gardens

🌿 Task:

• Capture a scenic reflection photo in the gardens’ pond.

• Find a perfectly trimmed hedge and take a picture.

• Locate the symmetrical staircases—how many steps do they have?

• Bonus: If you see peacocks (sometimes found in the gardens), snap a picture!

Discover the Debod Temple, one of Madrid's most unusual monuments. This construction dates from the 2nd century BC, and, after centuries on Egyptian soil, was brought to Spain as a gift from Egypt.

Transportation of the temple, which was originally built by order of king Adikhalamani, began in 1960, coinciding with the start of works at the Aswan Dam. It finally arrived in Madrid in 1972, and can be seen in La Montaña Park, very close to Plaza de España. This is one of the few sites where you can view a complete set of ancient Egyptian archaeological remains far from Egypt itself. The monument is surrounded by beautiful gardens with a fountain, and is Madrid's oldest. It has a hall, several chapels and a terrace on the upper floor, and conserves its original decoration inside.

It will help you understand its history, significance, and what makes it a unique landmark in Madrid.

📍 After notifying uss of your completed scavenger hunt:

• Proceed to the Temple ofDebod, located at Calle Ferraz, 1, 28008 Madrid, Spain.

• We will meet at the main entrance viewpoint area, situated near the reflecting pool at the front of the temple.

• Look for the informational signs and benches nearby, which can serve as landmarks.
