Hi, I’m Jenny Wang, a 16-year-old high school student from Fayetteville, North Carolina. I live with my supportive parents and my amazing older brother, who graduated from Davidson College last year and is now studying at Wake Forest Medical School to become a doctor.

Mino The Cat

I have a pet cat named Mino, who became part of our family almost a year ago. He appeared in our garage one day, looking a bit lost but very curious. We weren’t sure where he came from, but he seemed to feel right at home, so we decided to take him in. Since then, we’ve cared for him and made sure he’s happy and healthy. Mino has become such an important part of our daily lives, always bringing a little extra joy and warmth to our home.

My interests

I play tennis competitively and train every day to keep improving my skills. It’s a big part of my life, and I enjoy the challenge and discipline it brings. In my free time, I also like to draw, which helps me relax. As I think about my future, my favorite universities are UNC and Columbia, where I hope to continue developing my passions while getting a great education.

My definition of leadership

Leadership is about guiding and inspiring others to reach a shared goal. A good leader sets a positive example, builds trust, and helps everyone feel important.

Some important skills for a leader are:

Good Communication: Sharing ideas clearly and listening to others.

Understanding Others: Caring about people’s feelings and thoughts.

Making Decisions: Choosing the best options for the team.

Being Flexible: Adjusting to changes and finding new solutions.

My leadership experience

I’ve been a leader in group projects and community events. I’m good at listening, staying organized, and solving problems. I try to make sure everyone feels included and help the team stay focused.

If I was an animal, I'd be a house cat. I love cats, they're my favorite animal. Being able to do whatever I want and to be able to sleep all day in a comfortable environment with the company of someone would be very enjoyable.
