1.- theropods lived from the upper Triassic period to the Upper Cretaceous between 225 million and 70 million years ago, were 15 meters long and 6 meters high, fed on insects and small lizards, and became extinct due to the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid .
2. The Ornitholestes inhabited the Earth during the Jurassic period, measuring about 2 meters in length, half of which corresponded to the length of its tail and about 80 centimeters in height, weighed approximately 13 kilos, based its diet or consumption on consumption. of meat, whose favorite habitat were places with lots of vegetation or lush forests, were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
3. The Lusotitan lived at the end of the Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago, its diet was composed mostly of plants, using its long neck to reach them regardless of the height of the trees, it was between 25 and 27 meters long and 11 meters high, in addition to weighing around 30 tons, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
4. The Lambeosaurus inhabited the planet during the Cretaceous period, about 83 million years ago, their diet was based on the consumption of vegetable food, weighed from 4 to 6 tons, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
5. The Baryonyx lived during the Cretaceous Period, approximately 120 million years ago, it was fed on fish, it measured almost 10 meters in length, in terms of its height it is estimated that it did not reach more than 3 meters and in As for its weight, it has been suggested that it did not have more than 3 tons, nothing less, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
6. The Ambulocetus inhabited what we know as Cenozoic Era, which appears after the Mesozoic (that of the dinosaurs), ate fish and small animals that lived in the water, came to measure about 3 meters long, also reached a small height of only 50 centimeters and in terms of its weight was around 120 kilograms, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
7. The Tapejara inhabited the planet during the Cretaceous period, reaching about 3.5 meters high and 5 meters long from the head to the tail. As far as its weight would have been of about 35 kilograms, it was fed fish (already existed fish in the Cretácico), but mainly it was fed on fruits of the region, they were extinguished by the fall of the asteroid of Chicxulub.
8. The genus Apatosaurus inhabited the Earth during the Jurassic Period, came to measure with a not inconsiderable height of 4.5 meters and a length of 23 meters, could have ingested a set of stones often referred to as gastroliths, this phenomenon being the same that some birds of our day do, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
9. The Troodon inhabited our planet during the Cretaceous period, estimated to have been about 2 meters long, 1 meter high and no less than about 25 to 50 kilograms in weight, fed with plants, were extinguished by the fall of the asteroid of Chicxulub.
10. Stygimoloch consisted of 3 meters long and 2 meters high, located within the paquicefalosáuridos marginocéfalos, which developed all its existence in a territory in America, was fed with plants, were extinguished by the fall of the asteroid of Chicxulub.

1.-Tyrannosaurus rex : The "king of the tyrant lizards" and who has always believed the greatest and most ferocious terrestrial predator, has been relegated to a fourth place in terms of size. Quite younger than his older brothers, his reign is set between 67.7 and 65 million years ago, the rank of the Upper Cretaceous. Both its size, about 12.3 meters in length, 4 in height and a weight of 6 to 18 tons, and its jaw, thanks to its powerful, could fly with a power of 3,000 kg and go through with a steel drum . dinosaur the most feared of his time. This dinosaur became extinct because of a parasite. This parasite, of the Trichomonas species, produces an infection in the back of the jaw that prevents swallowing.
2.-El Lusotitan: lived at the end of the Jurassic period, about 150 million years ago, his diet was composed mainly of plants, using his long neck to reach them regardless of the height of the trees, was between 25 and 27 meters long and 11 meters high, besides weighing around 30 tons, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
3.-Triceratops: He lived during the late Cretaceous period. This herbivore fed on hard, fiber-rich plants. It measured nine meters and weighed approximately six tons. It was the largest of the horned dinosaurs that lived at the end of the Cretaceous. His teeth and his curved beak, like that of a parrot, were not suitable for chewing the plants he ate, but for cutting. He became extinct in the impact of the asteroid, by hunger and darkness, which eliminated the plants.
4.-The Ornitholestes: inhabited the Earth during the Jurassic period, measuring about 2 meters in length, half of which corresponded to the length of its tail and about 80 centimeters in height, weighed approximately 13 kilos, based its diet or consumption on consumption. of meat, whose favorite habitat were places with lots of vegetation or lush forests, were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
5.-Lambeosaurio: He lived during the late Cretaceous period. It measured up to 15 meters long and it is estimated that it weighed seven tons. The jaws of this dinosaur were characterized by having several rows of teeth piled on top of each other, reaching up to 700 teeth. This type of denture is known as a dental battery. It was very useful to crush the hard plants from which it was fed.
6.-The genus Apatosaurus: inhabited the Earth during the Jurassic Period, came to measure with a not inconsiderable height of 4.5 meters and a length of 23 meters, could have ingested a set of stones often referred to as gastroliths, this phenomenon being the same that some birds of our day do, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.

7.-The Baryonyx: lived during the Cretaceous Period, approximately 120 million years ago, it was fed on fish, it measured almost 10 meters in length, in terms of its height it is estimated that it did not reach more than 3 meters and in As for its weight, it has been suggested that it did not have more than 3 tons, nothing less, they were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
8.-Deinonicus: He lived during the Early Cretaceous period. This predator fed on animals and small dinosaurs. It measured three meters long and weighed up to 80 kilos. One of the most remarkable features of this dinosaur is the claw of the second toe of its legs. With her he killed his prey. To walk, he only used his third and fourth fingers. This small predator hunted in a group. They were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
9.-Allosaurus Fragilis:This carnivore lived in the late Jurassic period. It measures approximately 12 meters long and weighs up to two tons. It fed on small dinosaurs such as Camptosaurus and Stegosaurus, as well as lizards and mammals. It is characterized by protrusions in front of each eye. To date, it is not known exactly what its function was. It is one of the dinosaurs that has more information, especially in regard to its anatomy, appearance and way of life. They were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.
10.-Diplodocus Longus:He lived during the late Jurassic period. The diet of this herbivore may have included leaves and fruits of tall trees and shrubs, as well as ferns and equisetum that grew at ground level. It measured up to 27 meters long and it is estimated that it weighed 20 tons. The teeth of this dinosaur were located in the front area of the jaw. They were pencil-shaped and aligned in a similar way to the teeth of a comb. Several studies suggest that Diplodocus could not keep its neck up for a long time. The end of its tail was very thin, which allowed it to be used as a whip to defend itself from its predators. They were extinguished by the fall of the Chicxulub asteroid.

1.- Tyrannosaurus rex (from the Latinized Greek tyrannus 'tyrant' and saurus 'lizard', and the Latin rex, 'king'), 1 is the only known species of the fossil genus Tyrannosaurus of theropod dinosaur tyrannosaurid, which lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, it does approximately between 68 and 66 million years, 2 3 in the Maastrichtian, in what is today North America.
Like other tyrannosaurs, T. rex was a bipedal carnivore with a huge skull balanced by a long, heavy tail.

measuring up to 12.3 meters in length, 4 4 meters in height up to the hips, 5 and with estimated weights between 6 to 8 tons.
The microbe that ended with the most fearsome of dinosaurs. Because not everything was a matter of mass extinction. ... Well, according to some studies, the culprit of the extinction of the great Tyrannosaurus rex was, neither more nor less than a tiny microbe
2.- THE LUSOTITAN
Lusotitan ("gr. Titan of + lat. Portugal") is a genus represented by a single species of sauropod dinosaur, which lived at the end of the Jurassic period about 152 million years ago, in the Kimmeridgian, in what is now Europe
Lusotitan was a large sauropod, measuring 25 meters long, 10 meters tall and weighing 30 tons. The general consensus of its extinction has been built around two fundamental hypotheses: the impact of a giant meteorite and a period of great volcanic activity
3.- TRICERATOP
Triceratops, is a genus of ceratopsian dinosaurs ceratopsid, which lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 68 and 66 million years ago, in the Maastrichtian, in what is now North America.

4.-THE ORNITHOLESTES ("bird hunter") is a genus represented by a single species of theropod dinosaur, which lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately 145 million years ago, in the Titonian, in what is now North America.
It measures little more than 2 meters long and 0.80 high, with an estimated weight of 13 kilograms
It had small, sawed teeth and possibly hunted small animals such as lizards and mammals
It was extinguished in the impact of the asteroid, by hunger and darkness, which eliminated the plants
5.-lambeosaurio
("Lambe lizard") is a genus of ornithischian dinosaurs hadrosáuridos, who lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 83 and 71 million years ago, in the Campanian, in what is now North America.
It was a bore and average about 9.5 meters long
It was extinguished in the impact of the asteroid
6.- THE GENUS APATOSAURUS
(gr. "deceitful reptile") is a genus with two known extinct species of dinosaur sauropod diplodocid, which lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately between 155.7 and 150.8 million years ago, in the Kimmeridgiense, in which today is North America
it had a length between 21 to 22.8 meters, and a mass between 16.4 to 22.4 tons
Apatosaurus feed on all types of vegetation, but it is believed that they preferred the softer, more digestible aquatic plants

It was extinguished in the impact of the asteroid
7.-THE BARYONYX
("Walker's heavy claw") is the only known species of the extinct genus Baryonyx of the theropod spinosaurid dinosaur, which lived in the mid-Cretaceous period, approximately 125 million years ago during the Aptian, in what is now Europe and possibly Africa medía unos 9,5 metros de largo y entre 2.6 y 2.75 m de alto

8.- DEINONICUS
is a genus of carnivorous dichlorosaur dinosaurs with a described species, Deinonychus antirrhopus. This species, which could grow up to 3.4 meters (11 feet) long, lived during the early Cretaceous period, about 115-108 million years ago (from the mid-Aptian to the early Albian).
it could reach 3.4 meters in length, with a skull of about 410 millimeters (16.1 inches), a height of 87 centimeters (34.3 inches) although there is a high estimate of 100 kg (220 pounds). It was extinguished in the impact of the asteroid
9.-ALLOSAURUS FRAGILIS

It is an extinct genus with four valid species and several other possible species of dinosaurs terópodos Alosáuridos, who lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately 161.2 and 145 million years ago, between the Oxfordian and the Titonian, in what is now North America and Europe
It had an average size of 8.5 meters in length and 3.5 meters in height
they were carnivores that preyed on a wide range of herbivorous dinosaurs with the most varied sizes
It was extinguished in the impact of the asteroid
10.-DIPLODOCUS LONGUS is a genus of diplodocid sauropod dinosaurs, which lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately between 155.7 and 150.8 million years ago, in the Kimmeridgian and the Titianian, 2 in what is now North America.

Arqueopterix

Species: Archaeopterix Lithographica

His name means Ancient Wing. This primitive bird lived in the Jurassic period. It was a carnivorous dinosaur. His diet probably included small reptiles, mammals and insects. It measured approximately 60 centimeters and weighed 500 grams. It is considered the first bird. It is one of the most important fossils, because it provides evidence that supports the theory that birds evolved from an ancestor that was a dinosaur. The fossil skeletons of this species show that they were not as good flyers as the current birds. To date, eight specimens have been found in southern Germany.

Ornitomimo

Species: Ornithomimus Velox

Its name means Quick Bird Impersonator. He lived during the late Cretaceous period. This species was omnivorous. It fed on plants, insects and even eggs of other dinosaurs. It measured three meters long and weighed up to 150 kilograms. It was assigned this name because of its great resemblance to modern birds, such as the ostrich. Their fossil remains have been found in Colorado and Montana, United States, and Alberta, Canada.

Velociraptor

Species: Velociraptor Mongoliensis Its name means Rapid Hunter of Mongolia. He lived during the late Cretaceous period. It measured up to 1.8 meters in length and weighed 15 kilograms. It was carnivorous. It is believed that its favorite prey was Protoceratops. He was the size of a current wolf and probably hunted in a group, which allowed him to kill prey much larger than him. Like Deinonicus, it had a powerful claw on its legs, with which it mortally wounded its prey. Its fossils have been found in Mongolia and China.

Gallimimo Species: Gallimimus BullatusIts name means Reptil Hen. He lived during the late Cretaceous period. It measured four meters and weighed a little more than four tons. He was omnivorous and his diet consisted of small animals, insects, eggs and plants that he obtained after straining the mud with his comb teeth. This nimble dinosaur walked on two slender legs. Probably ran as fast as the ostrich, which reaches a speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Fossil remains have been found in the Gobi Desert and Mongolia. Alosaurus Species: Allosaurus FragilisHis name means Delicate Reptil Extraño. This carnivore lived in the late Jurassic period. It measured approximately 12 meters long and weighed up to two tons. It fed on small dinosaurs such as Camptosaurus and Stegosaurus, as well as lizards and mammals. It is characterized by the protuberances in front of each eye. To date, it is not known exactly what their function was. It is one of the dinosaurs that have more information, especially in regard to its anatomy, appearance and way of life. Fossil remains have been found in the western United States, Portugal and Australia.

Diplodocus Species: Diplodocus Longus Its name means Double Beam. He lived during the late Jurassic period. The diet of this herbivore may have included leaves and fruits of tall trees and shrubs, as well as ferns and equisetuses that grew at ground level. Fossil remains have been found in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, United States.

Amargasaurus

Species: Amargasaurus Cazaui Its name means Reptil de la Amarga, name of an Argentine province. He lived at the beginning of the Cretaceous period. It fed on plants, probably conifers, which dominated at that time. It measured up to 10 meters in length and weighed approximately five tons. He lived in herds, which migrated when food was scarce. It is believed that their thorns used to defend themselves or during courtship.

Tyrannosaurus

Species: Tyrannosaurus Rex Its name means Reptile Tyrant. He lived during the late Cretaceous period. It measured 10 to 14 meters in length and weighed between four and seven tons. It was one of the fiercest carnivores. Some fossil bones of Edmontosaurus and Triceratops show marks of the teeth of this predator. The hands of Tyrannosaurus were so short that they did not serve to take the food to the snout. Fossils have been found in western North America. For almost a hundred years, it was considered the largest carnivore, but in South America and Africa, larger specimens have been discovered, such as Gigantosaurus.

Mamenquisaur

Species: Mamenchisaurus Hochuanensis Its name means Lizard of Hochuan and Mamenchi. He lived during the late Jurassic period. It was herbivorous and fed on the foliage of trees. It measured 25 meters long and weighed 27 tons. So far a complete fossil skeleton has not been found, but a large part of it, which has allowed us to know what it was like. Apparently he traveled in packs, possibly when his food was scarce. Their fossil remains have been found in China.

Tecodontosaurus Species: Thecodontosaurus AntiquusIts name means Ancient Lizard with Small Teeth. He lived during the late Triassic period. It was approximately three meters long. He had four fingers on the hind legs and five on the front. It is the oldest prosauropod that is known. The prosauropods are the first large herbivorous dinosaurs. They were characterized by having a small head, relatively long neck and hind legs longer than the front ones. All had large fingernails and curved thumbs. The fossil remains of this species have been found in England.

10. Bahariasaurus ingens
It is the smallest of the largest carnivores on Earth. Its name means "Reptile of the Baharia oasis", found in Africa and belonging to the Cretaceous period, where it lived 95 million years ago. It was a large predator that reached 11 or 12 meters in length but lighter than other large carnivores of that size and weighing 2.5 tons. At first it was thought that it was one of the last species of Carcharodontosaurus or of the first species of Tyrannosaurus, but finally it was included in a separate genus.

9. Saurophaganax maximus
This "supreme among murderous lizards" is the oldest of the great carnivorous giants, which existed on earth more than 150 million years ago, in the famous Jurassic period, in what is now North America. The second of the list with 9-11 meters head to tail, 3.5 meters high and just over 3 tons of weight. It has created controversy of whether it belongs to a genus of its own or is part of the Allosaurus, because its size is far superior to the latter.

8. Electerias amplexus
One of the two great carnivores of the Jurassic (156-144 million years) North Americans. This dinosaur was thought to be a giant individual of the Allosaurus family, but the difference of several meters and more than a ton of weight makes this hypothesis discarded, since with its 12 meters in length and more than 4 tons of estimated weight , rivals the great predators known so far.

7. Mapusaurus roseae
Also from the Cretaceous period, this "land lizard" lived 95 million years ago in South America. Lesser than its close relative, the Giganotosaurus, its size was around 12 meters long and weighing 5 tons. Because 7 sets of fossils have been found in one place, it is thought that this hunter acted in groups, making it even more dangerous.

6. Acrocanthosaurus atokensis

Slightly older than the members of this list, this species of lower Cretaceous (120-112 million years) that has been found in the US is famous for its spiny back, hence its name means "lizard with high spines" to which strong muscles in the shape of a hump were tied like that of the current bison, very different from the "dorsal sail" of the Spinosaurians. The largest individual that has been found reached almost a dozen meters in length, as well as 5.5 tons in weight.

5. Tarbosaurus bataar
He inhabited the Earth 70 million years ago, in what is now Asia. It is so similar to Tyrannosaurus that some authors consider it the Asian subspecies of the famous American dinosaur. Its size and weight also resembled that of Tyrannosaurus (10-12 meters long, more than 4 meters high and between 6 and 7 tons). Its body structure was similar to that of the great dinosaurs, with strong and large hind legs that served as a point of support between the body and the long and heavy tail that balanced it. Their "hands" are the smallest proportionally to the rest of the body, with only two fingers

4. Tyrannosaurus rex
The "king of tyrant lizards" and we have always believed the largest and most ferocious terrestrial predator, has been relegated to a fourth place in terms of size. Quite younger than his older brothers, his reign is set between 67.7 and 65 million years ago, the rank of the Upper Cretaceous. Both its size, about 12.3 meters in length, 4 in height and a weight of 6 to 18 tons, and its jaw, which thanks to its powerful muscles could exert a force of 3,000 kg and go through a steel drum made of this dinosaur the most feared of his time. However, it had its defects, and that is that an adult human can easily escape from it, because although its legs are very strong, they do not allow it to run at more than 20-25 km / h. We must also bear in mind that his brain could double in size to that of other carnivores of its dimensions or even greater, giving him an intelligence that made him more dangerous when hunting and strategizing.

3. Carcharodontosaurus saharicus
This "reptile tooth of shark" coexisted with other of the largest terrestrial predators, 100-93 million years ago in Africa, sharing territory with the Spinosaurus. Its 12-13 meters in length, 3.5-5 meters in height and between 6 and 15 tons in weight (the experts do not agree with the estimates) make it the third largest terrestrial carnivores in history. To this we had to add that it was faster than the Tyrannosaurus reaching over 30 km / h in the race. Their teeth, similar to those of the sharks (hence their name), tore their prey until they died bled, using their sharp claws to hold them while it happened.

2. Giganotosaurus carolinii
With a range on the temporal scale similar to Spinosaurus, 100-97 million years ago, it left skeletal remains in South America. Known as "giant southern wind reptile", it is the second largest bipedal and carnivorous animal that the Earth has known with a size between 12.2 and 13 meters and an estimated weight of 6.5 to 13.8 tons. It is an animal with strong legs, but slow, reason why it is believed that it hunted in ambushes or not fast prey. In addition, it is the theropod with the largest skull in reference to its body, with laterally flattened and serrated teeth, ideal for tearing flesh.

1. Spinosaurus aegyptiacus.
And as the undisputed king of the largest land predators that have ever existed, we find this "thorn lizard". This gigantic being lived on our planet 112-97 million years ago (Cretaceous period) and discovered in Egypt, ousted the T-rex as far as large carnivores are concerned. Its size is estimated between 15 and 18 meters in length, with a weight that is not yet well established, since according to which expert mentions, it goes from 9 tons to 20. This dinosaur was famous for its famous dorsal sail, formed because the vertebrae of his back had very long spines. It is believed that this ridge had a thermoregulation function, being a cold-blooded animal, like the current lizards. It is thought, by the fossils of marine beings that have appeared with remains of stomach acid from Spinosaurus, that this great predator not only exploited the terrestrial environment, but also took advantage of its long nose to fish in fresh water.

It measured about 12 meters long and weighing about 7 tons.
The most outstanding feature of the Saltasaurus was the robustness that had very hardened in addition to having plates and dorsal spines.

The Acrocanthosaurus
It belongs to a group of dinosaur saurischians theropods Alosáuridos that lived in the Cretaceous Period.
The name of this dinosaur means "lizard of high thorns" since the dorsal spines had a somewhat longer apophysis.
As a whole, this greater prolongation of the apophysis gave the sensation of a small hump along the entire spine, which has been assumed to be a structure containing energy substances as a reserve.

The Pterodactylus
It was a genus of reptiles that inhabited our planet during the Jurassic period (approximately 150 million years ago). This genus is classified within the pterodactyl reptiles.
Name: Pterodactylus
Diet: Carnivore
Weight: 3 to 10 pounds
Period: Jurassic
Found In: South Africa and Europe

The Brachiosaurus
The Brachiosaurus was a genus of large herbivorous dinosaurs that inhabited our planet during the Jurassic period, approximately 154 million years ago.
It had quite large dimensions, with about 26 meters in length and about 9 meters in height. As for its weight, it would have been about 35 tons, it had a very long neck and a very small head in comparison.

The Sarcosaurus
It inhabited our planet during the period that scientists identify under the name of Jurassic, this means that it developed its existence about 200 million years ago.
His denomination was given to him due to a great quality focused on his feeding, that is to say, the one to eat meat, is for that reason that this denomination means "lizard that eats meat".
Name: Sarcosaurus
Diet: Carnivore
Weight: 120 kilograms
Period: Early Jurassic
Found In: England

The Cynognathus
The Cynognathus ("dog jaw") was a genus of mammalian reptiles that inhabited our planet along with the first dinosaurs that existed in the Permian, about 245 million years ago.
Name: Cynognathus
Diet: Carnivore
Weight: 20 kilograms
Period: Early / Middle Triassic
Found In: South America and Africa

The Procompsognathus
The genus Procompsognathus was a genus of theropod sacrohisodic cellophisid dinosaurs that lived approximately 218 million years ago, in the Upper Triassic Period.
The remains of Procompsognathus have been found in Germany (Europe), and are the only remains found.
Name: Procompsognathus
Diet: Carnivore
Weight: 2 kilograms
Period: Triassic
Found In: Germany

The Maiasaura
The Maiasaura was a genus of dinosaur that inhabited our planet during the Cretaceous period (about 70 million years ago).
This genus would have been able to move using two of its four extremities.
Name: Maiasaura
Diet: Herbivorous
Weight: 4.7 tons
Period: Upper Cretaceous
Found In: USA

The Gallimimus
It is a saurischian dinosaur oróitópodo theropod, they were very similar to birds but some of the fundamental habits of their lives such as food are unknown because they were very peculiar.

The name of the Stegosaurus comes from the Greek and means lizard with roof or roof, this because it had plates and thorns in the part of the tail and the back that makes them a very special dinosaur and recognized by many.
The Stegosaurus lived in North America almost at the end of the Jurassic period, 150 million years ago, in the Kimeridgian and Titonian periods.
The main clue we have about their diet is that their heads were down, this suggests that they could have been browsing, feeding on leaves, plants and branches that grew near the ground, hence their beak was of great help to start these branches or herbs.
Without a doubt, its plates and spines or spines, is what makes Stegosaurus special.

They feed on plants, insects and even eggs of other dinosaurs. It measured three meters long and weighed up to 150 kilograms. This name is bequeathed by its great resemblance to modern birds, such as the ostrich. Their fossil remains have been found in Colorado and Montana, United States, and Alberta, Canada.

Velociraptor
Species: Velociraptor Mongoliensis
Its name means Rapid Hunter of Mongolia.

Gallimimo
Species: Gallimimus Bullatus
Its name means Reptil Hen.

Alosaurus
Species: Allosaurus Fragilis
His name means Delicate Reptil Extraño.

Diplodocus
Species: Diplodocus Longus
Its name means Double Beam. He lived during the late Jurassic period. The diet of this herbivore may have included leaves and fruits of tall trees and shrubs, as well as ferns and equisetuses that grew at ground level. Fossil remains found in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, United States

Amargasaurus
Species: Amargasaurus Cazaui
Its name means Reptil de la Amarga, name of an Argentine province.

Species: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Its name means Reptile Tyrant.

Species: Mamenchisaurus Hochuanensis
Its name means Lizard of Hochuan and Mamenchi. He lived during the late Jurassic period. It was herbivorous and fed on the foliage of trees. It was 25 meters long and weighed 27 tons. So far a complete fossil skeleton has not been found, but a large part of it, which has allowed us to know what it was like. Apparently he traveled in packs, possibly when his food was scarce. Their fossil remains have been found in China.

Tecodontosaurus
Species: Thecodontosaurus Antiquus
Its name means Ancient Lizard with Small Teeth.

Pterodactylus is a genus of pterosaur, whose members are popularly known as pterodactyls. He was the first to be named and identified as a flying reptile. Their fossil remains have been found primarily in the Limestone of Solnhofen in Bavaria, Germany, dating from the late Jurassic period (early Titonian), between 150.8-148.5 million years ago, [2] although more fragmentary remains have been identified in other parts of Europe and in Africa. He was a carnivore and probably hunted fish and other small animals. Like all pterosaurs, the wings of Pterodactylus were formed by a membrane of muscle and skin that extended from its elongated fourth finger to its hind legs. This was maintained internally by collagen fibers and externally by keratinous edges.

To date, it is not known exactly what their function was. It is one of the dinosaurs that have more information, especially in regard to its anatomy, appearance and way of life. Fossil remains have been found in the western United States, Portugal and Australia.

Diplodocus

Species: Diplodocus Longus
Its name means Double Beam. He lived during the late Jurassic period. The diet of this herbivore may have included leaves and fruits of tall trees and shrubs, as well as ferns and equisetuses that grew at ground level. It measured up to 27 meters long and it is estimated that it weighed 20 tons. The teeth of this dinosaur were located in the front area of the jaw. They were pencil-shaped and aligned in a similar way to the teeth of a comb. Various studies suggest that Diplodocus could not keep its neck up for a long time. The end of its tail was very thin, which allowed it to be used as a whip to defend itself from its predators. Fossil remains have been found in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, United States.

Amargasaurus

Species: Amargasaurus Cazaui
Its name means Reptil de la Amarga, name of an Argentine province. He lived at the beginning of the Cretaceous period. It fed on plants, probably conifers, which dominated at that time. It measured up to 10 meters in length and weighed approximately five tons. He lived in herds, which migrated when food was scarce. It is believed that their thorns were used to defend themselves or during courtship.

Tyrannosaurus

Species: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Its name means Reptile Tyrant.

Species: Mamenchisaurus Hochuanensis
Its name means Lizard of Hochuan and Mamenchi. He lived during the late Jurassic period. It was herbivorous and fed on the foliage of trees. It measured 25 meters long and weighed 27 tons. So far a complete fossil skeleton has not been found, but a large part of it, which has allowed us to know what it was like. Apparently he traveled in packs, possibly when his food was scarce. Their fossil remains have been found in China.

Tecodontosaurus

Species: Thecodontosaurus Antiquus
Its name means Ancient Lizard with Small Teeth.

Extinction of dinosaurs
The discovery that birds are a type of dinosaur showed that in general dinosaurs are not, in fact, extinct as is commonly said. [143] However, all non-avian dinosaurs, as well as many groups of birds had suddenly they became extinct about 66 million years ago. It has been suggested that because small mammals, squamatas and birds occupied the ecological niches suitable for their small body size, non-avian dinosaurs never evolved a diverse fauna of small-bodied species, which led to their fall, when they were seen affected by terrestrial large-body tetrapods, as a consequence of the mass extinction event. [144] Many other groups of animals also became extinct at this time, including ammonites (nautilus-like mollusks), mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, pterosaurs, and many groups of mammals. [9] Significantly, the insects did not suffer any appreciable loss in their population, which left food available for other survivors. This massive extinction is known as the Cretaceous-Paleogene mass extinction. The nature of the event that caused this mass extinction has been widely studied since the 1970s; In the 21st century, several related theories have the support of paleontologists. Although the consensus is that an impact event was the main cause of the extinction of dinosaurs, some scientists cite other possible causes, or support the idea that a confluence of several factors was responsible for the sudden disappearance of dinosaurs from the fossil record .

At the height of the Mesozoic, there were no polar ice caps, and the sea level was between 100 and 250 meters higher than at present. The temperature of the planet was also much more uniform, with a difference of only 25 ° C (45 ° F) between polar and equatorial temperatures. On average, the atmospheric temperatures were also much warmer; the poles, for example, were 50 ° C (90 ° F) warmer than today.

The atmospheric composition during the Mesozoic was also very different. Carbon dioxide levels were up to twelve times higher than today, and oxygen represented between 32-25% of the atmosphere, compared to 21% today. However, by the end of the Cretaceous, the environment was changing dramatically. Volcanic activity was reduced, causing a cooling trend as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels dropped. Oxygen levels in the atmosphere also began to fluctuate and ended up falling considerably. Some scientists believe that climate change, along with lower oxygen levels, could have directly caused the disappearance of many species. If the dinosaurs had respiratory systems similar to those typical of modern birds, it could have been particularly difficult for them to adapt to lower respiratory performance, given the enormous amount of oxygen their bodies needed.

1. Troodon: The Troodon is a very interesting dinosaur whose name comes from the Greek and means tooth that hurts. There is only a single species lived in North America during the Campanian approximately 70 million years ago. He was one of the first dinosaurs that were discovered in North America in 1855. The Troodon had a neck relatively long and a jaw with teeth very sharp and small, her arms had 3 fingers with claws and powerful legs that made them excellent runners. I could measure approximately 2 meters high, one meter long and up to 50 kilos in weight. Their limbs were long and thin, so thought it was light and couldn't move very quickly, a special feature was that its upper limbs may have been bent like the of a bird.

2. Gallimimus: The gallimimus was a bipedal omnivore dinosaur that lived in the Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It had large eyes, had a long and flat, without teeth, beak on his small head. It had a long, flexible neck, and three fingers on each hand with sharp claws. The gallimimus is often compared with the current ostriches; especially in your legs long and thin, like a bird, and it is likely that the dinosaur was a runner fast, maybe faster dinosaur. The gallimimus lived during the Cretaceous period, 75 - 65000000 years ago.

3. Abrictosaurus: The Abrictosaurus was an animal of small size that was found in the current South Africa, and due to different paleontological studies at that time the climate was similar to the present as to which there was a wet season and other dry, and that could make great migrations in search of food as do currently wildebeests.

4. Mei: Mei genus consists of only one species, Mei long, which was a sort of dinosaur saurisquio theropod troodontido who lived approximately 135 million ago, in the Cretaceous, in the territories currently occupied by China (Asia). The name Mei means "deep sleep" and is known as "the dinosaur sleeping like hens" since the remains found were in position sleeping like a hen, very well preserved to be a small species of theropod remains from the Cretaceous.

5. Dimorphodon: Period: the Dimorphodon lived during the Middle Jurassic period, years 175 - 160 000 000 fossil locations: Dimorphodon fossils have been discovered in some parts of Europe and America order: Pterosauria meaning of the name: teeth in two Location forms: Europe and America approximate magnitude: 4 feet (1, 22metros) approximate weight: 4 pounds diet: Carnivore

6. Microraptor:The Microraptor was a flying dinosaur and has a resemblance to the current birds. This animal lived in heaven with wings that had in its four limbs. Would you like to know more about it? Let's see the basic information about our friend. How tall are long? -This flying dinosaur would have a length between 42 up to 83 cm. What is your height? -The average height of this exemplary era of approximately 30 centimetres. What is your weight? -The weight of this dinosaur bird would have hovered kg. When did he live? -This dinosaur would have inhabited our planet for the first time 131 million years ago until about 120 million years ago.

7. Sarcosaurus: The extinct specimen turned out to actually be a theropod celofisido, which dwelt on Earth during the period that the scientists identified under the heading of Jurassic, this is to say that it developed its existence makes approximately 200 million years. Its name it was provided due to a great quality focused on food, i.e., the eating meat, so that this name means "lizard eating meat". Name: Sarcosaurus diet: carnivorousPeso: 120 kilogramos

Encontrado En: Inglaterra

8. Avimimus: The genus Avimimus is represented by a single species belonging to the Group of saurischian dinosaurs theropods avimimidos. This group inhabited our planet in the Cretaceous period, makes approximately 70 million years ago, the territory currently known as Asia. The first official description of this prehistoric animal dates from the year 1981 and was performed by Dr. Sergi Kurzanov. The Avimimus name comes from latin and literally means "bird mimic", since their physiognomy is reminiscent of a current ave, without neglecting the characteristics of a dinosaur, Name: Avimimus diet: herbivorous weight: 20 kg period: Late Cretaceous found in: Asia

9. Quetzalcoatlus: The Quetzalcoatlus was a genus of flying reptiles that lived on Earth during the Cretaceous period (specifically makes about 68 million years ago). It is classified within the Group of reptiles pterosaurs pterodactiloideos. This genre would have cohabited with the dinosaurs, but he is not considered one of them. Its appearance would have been compared to the feathered snake. Name: Quetzalcoatlus diet: carnivorous weight: 150 kg period: Cretaceous found in: Texas

10. Giganotosaurus: Giganotosaurus carolinii is the only species that has been discovered in the genus Gigatonosaurus. It is a genus of theropod dinosaur which generated much controversy regarding its size and was even the cause of several scientific debates about maximum sizes which could reach this type of dinosaurs. Certainly what is clear is that it was one of the top predators of their habitat. But so that no doubts remain you what we will do in this post we present you in detail to this giant predator of the Cretaceous. Name: Giganotosaurus diet: carnivorous weight: 4 - 15 tons period: Cretaceous found in: Patagonia

1.- Bahariasaurus ingens

It is the smallest of the largest carnivores on Earth. Its name means "Reptile of the Baharia oasis", found in Africa and belonging to the Cretaceous period, where it lived 95 million years ago. It was a large predator that reached 11 or 12 meters in length but lighter than other large carnivores of that size and weighing 2.5 tons. At first it was thought that it was one of the last species of Carcharodontosaurus or of the first species of Tyrannosaurus, but finally it was included in a separate genus.
2.- Saurophaganax maximus

This "supreme among murderous lizards" is the oldest of the great carnivorous giants, which existed on earth more than 150 million years ago, in the famous Jurassic period, in what is now North America. The second of the list with 9-11 meters head to tail, 3.5 meters high and just over 3 tons of weight. It has created controversy of whether it belongs to a genus of its own or is part of the Allosaurus, because its size is far superior to the latter.
3.- Epanterias amplexus

This "supreme among murderous lizards" is the oldest of the great carnivorous giants, which existed on earth more than 150 million years ago, in the famous Jurassic period, in what is now North America. The second of the list with 9-11 meters head to tail, 3.5 meters high and just over 3 tons of weight. It has created controversy of whether it belongs to a genus of its own or is part of the Allosaurus, because its size is far superior to the latter.
4.- Mapusaurus roseae

Also from the Cretaceous period, this "land lizard" lived 95 million years ago in South America. Lesser than its close relative, the Giganotosaurus, its size was around 12 meters long and weighing 5 tons. Because 7 sets of fossils have been found in one place, it is thought that this hunter acted in groups, making it even more dangerous.

6.-
Acrocanthosaurus atokensis

Slightly older than the members of this list, this species of lower Cretaceous (120-112 million years) that has been found in the US is famous for its spiny back, hence its name means "lizard with high spines" to which strong muscles in the shape of a hump were tied like that of the current bison, very different from the "dorsal sail" of the Spinosaurians. The largest individual that has been found reached almost a dozen meters in length, as well as 5.5 tons in weight.
7.-
Carcharodontosaurus saharicus
8.-
Tyrannosaurus rex

9.-

10.-
Spinosaurus aegyptiacus

ArqueopterixSpecies: Archaeopterix LithographicaHis name means Ancient Wing.

Species: Velociraptor Mongoliensis
Its name means Rapid Hunter of Mongolia.

Gallimimo
Species: Gallimimus Bullatus
Its name means Reptil Hen.

Alosaurus
Species: Allosaurus Fragilis
His name means Delicate Reptil Extraño.

Several studies suggest that Diplodocus could not keep its neck up for a long time. The end of its tail was very thin, which allowed it to be used as a whip to defend itself from its predators. Fossil remains have been found in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, United States.

Tyrannosaurus
Species: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Its name means Reptile Tyrant.

Tecodontosaurus
Species: Thecodontosaurus Antiquus
Its name means Ancient Lizard with Small Teeth.

Spinosaurus
Species: Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus
Its name means Spiny Reptile of Egypt. He lived during the Early Cretaceous period. The Spinosaurus was up to 15 meters long and weighed four tons. Perhaps the diet of this carnivore included fish and other dinosaurs. To date no remains of food have been found in any fossil. It is believed that its huge crest absorbed and dispersed the heat. This regulated his body temperature. Perhaps it was also useful for courtship. The fossils of this dinosaur have been found in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco.

Therodite Giant species of flying dinosaurs such as the terdactyls were similar in size to modern aircraft. In the past and based on the fossils discovered, paleontologists had estimated that the largest size of a terosaur was 10 meters, and was the largest animal to fly. However, new findings in Israel and Mexico now suggest that these specimens of dinosaurs were twice as large, comparable with modern aircraft. The scientist David Martill explained in the Daily Telegraph that: "these dinosaurs were the size of a small airplane. Although we only have fragments of fossils, they are huge. In addition, methods of tissue preservation suggest that these dinosaurs had very sophisticated structures. "The last known thermae was that of Quetzalcoatlus, discovered by the scientist Douglas Lawson in the Big Bend National Park of Texas, in the 1970s.The terosaurs, which flew with great ease and even walked closing their wings like bats, lived in the Triassic period with the oldest species of dinosaurs, 220 million years ago. These animals belong to the group of reptiles known as archosaurs, which include crocodiles, dinosaurs and birds.

And I visited it with my friends Nayeli Gonzales and Odalys Moreira on November 30th.

Types of dinosaurs:

1.-Bambiraptor: Half bird and half dinosaur
The origin of his name can be found in Italian, because it is the combination of the Italian word bambino translated into our language means child and raptor due to his great kinship with the Velociraptor.
As a rule, most dinosaurs that were carnivores were well below size compared to those that were herbivores.
A clear example of this is the Bambiraptor, which with only 1 meter long and 30 centimeters was a carnivorous dinosaur.

2. Allosaurus: a ton of ferocity
The genus Allosaurus was a group of Saurohisodic dinosaurs, theropods, allosaurs that lived during the Jurassic Period, about 155 million years ago and that shared its habitat with several gigantic sauropods.
Its name comes from the Greek and literally means "strange lizard", mainly due to the protuberances that appear in its skull.

3.-Bruhathkayosaurus, the large-bodied lizard
The Bruhathkayosaurus is a dinosaur sauropod titanosaur and could have reached about 220 tons. The existence of this dinosaur is quite questionable, but if it had existed it would have been undoubtedly one of the heaviest dinosaurs ever found.
Besides having been one of the heaviest, it would also have been one of the largest, although its questionable existence is what precedes it.

4.-Carcharodontosaurus: The dangerous teeth
The genus Carcharodontosaurus was a genus of dinosaur saurischians, theropods, and allies that lived on Earth about 112 million years ago, during the Cretaceous Period.
It coincided in time with known species such as Spinosaurus, from which remains have been obtained indicating that there were battles between these two species.

5.-Dimorphodon: A mysterious flyer
The genus Dimorphodon encompasses a series of aerial reptiles known as pterosaurs, so they are not dinosaurs, which lived on Earth about 200 million years ago, in the Early Jurassic.
The meaning of the word Dimorphodon that gives name to the group is "teeth of two forms" since it owns two groups of teeth.
This feature is very rare in pterosaurs and reptiles in general, since they have all teeth equal. This name was granted by Richard Owen in 1859.
Two species have been found, an American one called D.wientrabu, and a European one found in the south of Great Britain and called D.macronyx, the English remains being the first to be found.
6.-Hippar: the little ancestor of horses
Hipparion was a genus of prehistoric mammal that inhabited our planet during the Cenozoic and more specifically in what we know as the Neogene period (about 10 million years ago). It is classified within the group of the perisodáctilos mammals.
This genre would have looked similar to a current horse. The only difference between the current horses and them is that they, the hipparions, would be somewhat smaller.

7.-Doedicurus: The giant armadillo
This spectacular ancestral mammal belonged to the family of glyptodonts, as you will see this family has a close relationship with the current armadillos.
The Doedicurus clavicaudatus and the Doedicurus patagonicus are the only species of the genus Doedicurus that have been found.
The prehistoric animal that occupies the present article lived during the Cenozoic, was that it precedes the current one. Within the Cenozoic there are much more precise temporal subclassifications and the Doedicurus specifically pertains to the Quaternary Period.

8.-Dinosaur Zuniceratops
We continue with our review of the ceratopsians and today we have to talk about the Zuniceratops, another dinosaur that stands out for its robust head and for being one of the first dinosaurs with horns over the eyes. Let's see what else is interesting about this dinosaur with horns. As for its physical characteristics, its height was about one meter, it was about 3 meters long and it weighed almost 250 kilos. Of course, the most remarkable aspect is undoubtedly its two horns on the eye sockets, since within paleontology has not yet found another older dinosaur that has them.

9.-Dinosaur Montanoceratops
The genus Montanoceratops is a genus of ceratopsian ornithischian dinosaurs that lived at the end of the Late Cretaceous Period, and may be the last dinosaurs to disappear in the extinction of the Cretaceous. This dinosaur, which is also called "face with horns of Montana", is a genus that is classified within the Leptoceratopsidae family and that is only represented by one species, the Montanoceratops cerorhynchos. It lived during the Cretaceous era (about 65-71 million years ago) in what is now North America.
Among its physical characteristics we can highlight its large head, the small horn that has in the nose and the "plate" that it has in the head. According to different studies, it is estimated that the males had that plaque larger than the females and that it was used to perform the courtship. Its height was about 2 meters and it weighed approximately 400 kilos.

10.-Deinosuchus: A crocodile to fear
Cretaceous approximately 80 million years ago.

Its name means "terrible crocodile", and reached 15 meters of lontigud and weigh more than 9 tons, which makes it one of the largest crocodiles ever on Earth.
These dimensions are capable of leaving small the largest of the current crocodiles, and only surpassed in size by the Purusaurus.
Deinosuchus lived in present-day North America, and it seems he may have shared territory with the Tyrannosaurus rex, which it seems he would not have feared and would have faced directly.
Apart from the T.rex, this crocodile was able to hunt almost any thirsty dinosaur that approached a shore to drink a little and did not notice the Deinosuchus stalking from the depths.

Dinosaur types 1 - ApatosaurusIts name means deceptive reptile, it is very elliptical and it is said that it lived at the end of the Jurassic period, it weighed around 20 tons, it had a length from the snout to the tail of about 22 meters and 4.5 meters. high. 2 - BarosaurusIts name means heavy lizard, it belongs to the saurópodosdiplomados that is believed to have lived at the end of the Juridical period they got to measure 20 meters in length, 7 of height and they weighed approximately 23 tons. 3 - Diplodocus Of the same family as the previous two, it is believed that it was not as heavy as others, since its neck and tail represented its greatest length, it crawled around 25 tons. 4 - Paralititan Saurópodotitanosaurio. It is estimated that he lived in the middle of the Cretaceous. Some think it could have measured 25 meters in length and weight around 35 tons. 5 - Supersaurus This saurópododiplodócido, also known as super-lizard. It is believed that it measured about 28 meters in length with a weight between 35 and 40 tons. 6 - Brachiosaurus Belonging to the family of the sauropodosbraquiosous, he lived in Africa, North America and Europe. It could have measured 13 meters high, 25 meters long and weigh about 40 tons. 7 - SauroposeidónIts name means king lizard of the earthquakes, and it is not surprising that it approaches the dice 17 meters high, a length of about 30 meters and a weight of between 50 and 60 tons. 8 - Futalognkosaurus This great titanosaur, which some believe lived at the end of the Cretaceous period in what is now known as South America. The wise in the matter think that this enormous animal has a height of 15 meters, with a length of 32 meters and a weight of 80 tons. 9 - ArgentinosaurusIt is believed that he lived in what is now South America, very little was lost in due time due to the shortage of fossils found, however, given the size of what is found, it is believed that he could have measured about 45 meters long and weighed around 100 tons. 10 - Amphicoelias fragillimusIt is believed that this saurópododipdódócido lived at the end of the Jurassic period. Scientists believe that it was the largest terrestrial reptile, the only one to reach the recovered from this animal that is estimated to be between 40 and 60 meters long and weighs about 135 tons. Unfortunately, no more fossils of this great animal have been found and it is very difficult to have a more accurate description of reality.

Species: Velociraptor Mongoliensis
Its name means Rapid Hunter of Mongolia. Its fossils have been found in Mongolia and China.
.
Gallimimo

Species: Gallimimus Bullatus
Its name means Reptil Hen. He lived during the late Cretaceous period. It measured four meters and weighed a little more than four tons. He was omnivorous and his diet consisted of small animals, insects, eggs and plants that he obtained after casting the mud with his comb teeth. This nimble dinosaur walked on two slender legs. Probably ran as fast as the ostrich, which reaches a speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Fossil remains have been found in the Gobi Desert and Mongolia.

Alosaurus

Species: Allosaurus Fragilis
His name means Delicate Reptil Extraño.

It is believed that their thorns used to defend themselves or during courtship.

Tyrannosaurus

Species: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Its name means Reptile Tyrant.

The fossil remains of this species have been found in England

The history of the dinosaurs began about 230 million years ago, in the middle of the Triassic period. Dinosaur is a word of Latin origin. The first to propose this word was the English scientist, Sir Richard Owen, in 1841. ... From 245 to 208 million years ago they are said to be from the Triassic.

Types of dinosaurs:

1.-Bambiraptor: Half bird and half dinosaur The origin of his name can be found in Italian, because it is the combination of the Italian word bambino translated into our language means child and raptor due to his great kinship with the Velociraptor. As a rule, most dinosaurs that were carnivores were well below size compared to those that were herbivores. A clear example of this is the Bambiraptor, which with only 1 meter long and 30 centimeters was a carnivorous dinosaur. 2. Allosaurus: a ton of ferocity The genus Allosaurus was a group of Saurohisodic dinosaurs, theropods, allosaurs that lived during the Jurassic Period, about 155 million years ago and that shared its habitat with several gigantic sauropods. Its name comes from the Greek and literally means "strange lizard", mainly due to the protuberances that appear in its skull. 3.-Bruhathkayosaurus, the large-bodied lizard The Bruhathkayosaurus is a dinosaur sauropod titanosaur and could have reached about 220 tons. The existence of this dinosaur is quite questionable, but if it had existed it would have been undoubtedly one of the heaviest dinosaurs ever found. Besides having been one of the heaviest, it would also have been one of the largest, although its questionable existence is what precedes it. 4.-Carcharodontosaurus: The dangerous teeth The genus Carcharodontosaurus was a genus of dinosaur saurischians, theropods, and allies that lived on Earth about 112 million years ago, during the Cretaceous Period. It coincided in time with known species such as Spinosaurus, from which remains have been obtained indicating that there were battles between these two species. 5.-Dimorphodon: A mysterious flyer The genus Dimorphodon encompasses a series of aerial reptiles known as pterosaurs, so they are not dinosaurs, which lived on Earth about 200 million years ago, in the Early Jurassic. 6.-Hippar: the little ancestor of horses Hipparion was a genus of prehistoric mammal that inhabited our planet during the Cenozoic and more specifically in what we know as the Neogene period (about 10 million years ago). It is classified within the group of the perisodáctilos mammals. This genre would have looked similar to a current horse. The only difference between the current horses and them is that they, the hipparions, would be somewhat smaller. 7.-Doedicurus: The giant armadillo This spectacular ancestral mammal belonged to the family of glyptodonts, as you will see this family has a close relationship with the current armadillos. 8.-Dinosaur Zuniceratops We continue with our review of the ceratopsians and today we have to talk about the Zuniceratops, another dinosaur that stands out for its robust head and for being one of the first dinosaurs with horns over the eyes. 9.-Dinosaur Montanoceratops The genus Montanoceratops is a genus of ceratopsian ornithischian dinosaurs that lived at the end of the Late Cretaceous Period, and may be the last dinosaurs to disappear in the extinction of the Cretaceous. 10.-Deinosuchus: A crocodile to fear Cretaceous approximately 80 million years ago.
