This battle was instigated my the white settlers trying to take away land from the Plain Indians. The Union soldiers came up with the strategy  that they should kill all of the Buffalo to  take away the Native American's food source.

The Leaders
Native Americans- Kicking Bird,Geronimo, Quanah Parker, Lone Wolf
Union- William Tecumseh Sherman, Gen. Ranald S. McKenzie

Cause
It began with conflicts with Western Expansion in Texan Plains. Commander Sherman ordered war against the Native Americans to force them into their Reservations because some Kiowas killed some soldiers. The Union began slaughtering Buffalo. Natives were tried in Civil Court.

Outcome
The defeated Indians surrendered and the chiefs were taken into custody. One killed himself and another was assassinated. It ended a lot of cultural aspects and destroyed the ecosystem.
