The plants can easily be monitored. This technique maintains the fertility of soil and is the least harmful approach for an environmental clean up considering the form of technique itself is eco-friendly. Toxic waste such as lead, arsenic and cadmium can be eliminated by plants such as poplar trees, sunflower and willows. The solar panels are waterproof and UV resistant with urethane coating, thus this backpack works in the rain. Besides, 2 minutes of sun exposure to the cells is equal to 1 percent of charge for electronic appliances like smartphones. Moreover, it provides power up to 120 watt-hours per day that can charge electronic devices rated up to 300W. For example, cameras, mobile phones, tablet, power bank, music players, electronic watches and other portable electronic appliances. This backpack is also capable to charge phones as fast as the socket in the wall. Other than that, it functions as a source of emergency power during a blackout, natural disaster or other unfortunate situations. The advantage of solar backpack is light-weight so it can be easily carried. It is specially designed and rigged to provide power and proper storage for other things. This backpack is highly beneficial for outdoor enthusiasts as they can have unlimited power source especially in remote areas. Next, Solar cookers save time. With box and panel solar cookers food can be left unattended to cook while people do other work indoors or in the shade. Since food will not burn in box and panel solar cookers, no stirring is necessary. Pots are easy to clean because food doesn’t stick—an important factor in regions where water is scarce. Furthermore, Solar cookers are safe, healthy and convenient.&nbsp; With solar panel and solar box cookers there is no fire hazard.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>1. What kind of green technology<br></strong>The green technology ideas which I hope can be implement in UNIMAS is edible water bubble. The idea of edible water bubble is to reduce the highly usage of plastics bottles in the world. It was invented by skipping rock lab which located in United Kingdom. This edible water bubble is named Ooho and currently it can only take up to 150ml max per pic. Ooho is made from 100% of seaweed and plants. Edible algae are included when packaging Ooho. <br><br><strong>2. Opportunities<br></strong>This edible water bubble bring up some opportunities which can greatly help in protecting our mother nature. One of the opportunities is it save cost, energy and 100% biodegradable which will not produce any waste after used. The cost of producing Ooho is cheaper than the cost of plastic bottles. Also, it can be biodegradable as it use only seaweed and plants. This make it more environmentally friendly while the needs of plastic will be reduce with the replacement of this edible water bubble. <br><br>Apart from that, Ooho is more prone to green chemistry as fewer chemical substances (CO<sub>2</sub>) been released during the manufacturing of Ooho in factory. This is because in the making of Ooho it produce 5 times lesser of carbon dioxide (CO<sub>2</sub>) than polyethylene terephthalate (PET) which used in creating plastics water bottles. Furthermore, the Ooho’s gelatinous membrane can be used to hold a variety of liquids from water to soft drinks to liquid cosmetics. This will increase its economical value in market. It is currently been used widely for the sport events in United Kingdom. <br><br><strong>3. Challenges<br></strong>The challenges that will be face in this edible water bubble is it can only preserve up to 6 weeks after manufactured. It can be keeping in long term which reduce in lifespan. Next, contamination issue may bring up as the membrane of Ooho may be contaminated with bacteria before eaten. This might happen during the transportation from factory to market. This features make it too heavy<br>      to carry, needs to spend more money to buy the ink and not an eco-friendly<br>     device. The implementation of <em>Solar Tanning Printer</em>, a new eco-friendly device<br>     can be used in office, campus also college. <br><br></div><div><strong>2. Opportunities </strong></div><div>     It is a solar-used printer which eliminates the need of the electric connection<br>     and make it as a portable device. Also, it is manageable than the normal <br>     printer. This printer would not need any ink cartridge to print. Nowadays, ink <br>     cartridges are expensive especially for students and they are difficult to find <br>     out in several places. The printing process is preformed using a refraction <br>     glass on top of the device to capture direct light which is then converted to <br>     electric energy. This energy may enhance a thermal coil to heat and will tans <br>     the paper with the desired text. It is compatible with other devices like scanner,<br>     pen drives, smart phones and PCs. So i wondering, the nano technology now a day is quite advance and if me put this idea into nanotechnology what will happen? But, actually someone in this world is working on it, is named Transparent Solar Spray. It utilize the solar cell by using the nanotechnology which can turn any surface into solar panel. Why not?

Opportunities<br>- Waste combuster process non-recyclable plastic within two tanks. The top tank converts the plastic to gas through pyrolysis. The gas then travels  to a lower tank, where it burned to generate heat and steam. The steam powers a turbine to produce electricity. Pyrolysis process is when the plastic waste is heated in the absence of oxygen, which produces gas and mixture of oil similar to crude oil. Pyrolysis process is better than the incineration process because it emit lower emission of sulphur and nitrogen oxide. It also can produce electricity or uels and provide more flexible way of storing energy than incineration. Sunlight is made of energy particles called photons. When photons attack the silicon plate, the electrons get knocked off from the atoms.        Enzyme to Break Down Plastic 

2. Opportunities
     To combat the plastic epidemic, the researchers turned to a discovery made a few years ago: a strange bacteria living in Japanese landfills that somehow learned to digest plastic.
This bacteria digests plastic the same way any living thing digests anything—with an enzyme, a specialized molecule that makes certain chemical reactions easier. After studying this bacteria, the researchers found the enzyme , which is similar to the enzyme many bacteria already use to break down a different chemical, called cutin. Cutin is a plastic-like substance produced by plants as an external, protective coating. The scientists hypothesized that this new plastic-eating enzyme must have evolved from an older cutin-eating enzyme.
While testing this hypothesis, the researchers managed to create a new version of the enzyme that works even better. According to the researchers, their newly-created enzyme can break down PET about 20 percent faster than the enzyme developed by the bacteria. 

3. Challenges
      The enzyme is not yet optimised.With a few years of development, scientists might be able to improve the enzyme even further, to the point where it becomes economically feasible to use inside of an industrial process. It will be a while before that happens, but in a few years we might start finally getting rid of some of our plastic for good.

OPPORTUNITIES<br>Dark pavement used for most roads absorbs the sun’s energy and heats up the surrounding area. In the summer, pavement can reach up to 120-150°F, but this type of pavement could reduce this by over 40°F. With pavement occupying 35-50% of the space in a campus or student accomodations, this could have a huge effect on the overall temperature of the surrounding itself. The suitable color is needed for the cool pavement to maximize its cooling effects. The two best options are to create reflective coating for existing pavements or create a new type of pavement made from lighter, more reflective material.<br><br></div><div>Other benefits include a decrease in pollution and smog, slowing global warming, saving energy by decreasing the need for air conditioning, and even decreasing the need for street lamps at night because of the reflective surface.<br><br>3. CHALLENGES<br>It will cost a lot to install the cool pavement. The installation progress also will take much time. Opportunities<br></strong>According to UNIMAS situation, most of the students and lecturers prefer walking instead of driving when move to another place. Energy-harvesting tile can converts the energy of a simple footstep into electricity that can be stored or used directly by devices. Although the kinetic energy harvested from footsteps isn’t enough to supply energy to entire power grids, it could be very helpful in powering things like street lamps. This can prevent the incident that caused by malfunction of street lamps which occurs frequency in UNIMAS. We have to admit that UNIMAS is having many street lamps waiting to be on at night. By using this technology, we can save the electricity that initially need to use some main street of faculty and use it in the small road that easily happen incident. <br><br> <strong>3.</strong> <strong>Challenges</strong> <br>The tiles have to be made and installed in ground that’s strong enough to withstand pressure or damage and whether resistant. Moreover, the cost of this tiles is high and it might be vandalized or stolen. This will cause UNIMAS to has unnecessary lost. </div>]]></description>

It is also known as ground-source heat pump which is an electrically powered refrigeration unit which transfers energy to and from the ground. It can heat, cool and even supply hot water to a home.<br><br>2.Opportunities<br>- Safe because no combustion involved and no emission of potentially dangerous gases<br>- Use much less energy and reduces air pollution<br>-  Much quieter than other cooling systems and last longer<br>- Minimal maintenance required<br><br>3.Challenges<br>- Electricity is still needed because it is necessary to run heat compressor in closed loop system and for pumping up water the whole year in open loop system. It is not completely carbon neutral.<br>-  Installation is highly disruptive to landscape<br>- Soil type. Increase in soil moisture above 25% improves heat transfer and decrease in soil moisture below 12.5% give devastating impact on performance of heat pumps. 1. What kind of green technology.

Handkerchiefs are a much more sustainable replacement for facial tissues and many other things. Think about replacing other things in your home with hankies…paper napkins, paper towel, toilet paper, tissue paper, or other things around the house that might currently be disposable. We no longer have to worry about running out of tissues. In the past, when the last tissue had been used, we would grab for toilet paper and frantically run to add tissues to the grocery list. Opportunities </strong><br> This idea is easy to be conducted by all students in Unimas since all students have many kinds of e-waste. Instead of throwing it away,  students must tend to recycle this items so that it can be reuse-able items. Recycling of e-waste is a growing trend and was initiated to protect human and environmental health mainly due to the widespread environmental impacts of e-waste. Recycling this items will keeps our environmental clean form any dangerous chemical produced by the electrical waste which can be dangerous and can cause air pollution and also waster pollution if thrown mindlessly. Even though this process of recycling is highly labour intensive and goes through several steps, involving students into recycling of e-waste activities might remove their weight off their shoulders to keep this activities as their every goals.<br><br>   Through e-waste recycling process, these are the items that were reuse - Plastic, Metal, Glass, Mercury, Printed Circuit Boards, Hard drives ( Processed into aluminium)<br><br><strong>3. What kind of green technology?<br>Rainwater Catchment System.<br>Rainwater Catchment system also called as Rainwater Harvesting System.<br>Rainwater is collected, stored and utilize than allowing it to run-off. The rain will be collected in gutters that channel the water into downspouts and then into some sort of storage vessel. It can be as simple as collecting rain in a rain barrel or as complex as harvesting rainwater for household demand.<br><br>2. Opportunities&nbsp;<br>- Easy to maintain. The overall cost of the installation is much more cheaper than water purifying or pumping systems. The maintenance requires less time and energy since it uses simple technologies.<br>- Reduce usage of water. The harvested water will collect and automatically be used for various systems, such as toilet flushing, outside taps and more. It also acts as a backup water source. The result will be less water usage and cheaper bills.<br>- Eco-friendly. Rainwater catchment system reduces demand on ground water as we know the sources of ground water are increasingly being strained in many areas. Can help to store rainwater and then use when needed such as in dry season.<br>- Improve plant growth. Harvested rainwater generally free from various types of pollutants, man-made contaminants and chlorination. Rainwater is cleaner and helps plants grow healthy.<br>- Can be used for non-drinking purposes. Rainwater can reduce the usage of water that requires large amounts of water. For examples, washing clothes and dishes, for bathing, wash vehicles, refill swimming pool and more.<br>- Reduces flooding and erosion. It can reduce erosion around downspouts or gardens and control storm water run-off. It doesn't produce scale and corrosion as hard as water does. By collecting rainwater, flooding can be prevented.<br><br>3. Challenges<br>- High cost for first installation. Depending on the system's size and technology level. The higher the technology level, the higher the cost for the first installation.<br>- Regular maintenance. It requires regular maintenance as it can be as mosquitoes' breeding spot.&nbsp;<br>- Limited storage. Instead of the now-commonly-used motion-sensor lights bulb; my focus would be using Infrared-Thermal Sensor Light Bulbs more. These light bulbs will detect any thermal heat wave that enters an enclosed spacious place such as campus classrooms or in houses. The lights can also be set off manually according to an individual's preference. Once everyone has leave that certain place, the lights will automatically shuts off as no more heat waves are detected.
 
 Opportunities:
 • Greatly reduce cost of electricity bills
 • Ensures an efficient electrical energy management as students tend to forget or just plain ignorant when it comes to switching off lights after using them
 
 Challenges:
 • Might be expensive to repair if the infrared-sensor malfunctions

Rainwater Catchment System.
Rainwater Catchment system also called as Rainwater Harvesting System.
Rainwater is collected, stored and utilize than allowing it to run-off. The rain will be collected in gutters that channel the water into downspouts and then into some sort of storage vessel. It can be as simple as collecting rain in a rain barrel or as complex as harvesting rainwater for household demand.

2. Opportunities 
- Easy to maintain. The overall cost of the installation is much more cheaper than water purifying or pumping systems. The maintenance requires less time and energy since it uses simple technologies.
- Reduce usage of water. The harvested water will collect and automatically be used for various systems, such as toilet flushing, outside taps and more. It also acts as a backup water source. The result will be less water usage and cheaper bills.
- Eco-friendly. Rainwater catchment system reduces demand on ground water as we know the sources of ground water are increasingly being strained in many areas. Can help to store rainwater and then use when needed such as in dry season.
- Improve plant growth. Harvested rainwater generally free from various types of pollutants, man-made contaminants and chlorination. Rainwater is cleaner and helps plants grow healthy.
- Can be used for non-drinking purposes. Rainwater can reduce the usage of water that requires large amounts of water. For examples, washing clothes and dishes, for bathing, wash vehicles, refill swimming pool and more.
