I used Gingersoftware and created a revision of my paragraph that I wrote in an english class about informal relationships. As students, we write a lot mostly in every class. Sometimes, we need tools to go and check back over what we wrote to make sure our words that we are trying to communicate come out in the simplest and most understanding way for others to understand. Most of the times, we know what we are saying but when we go back and read it, it does not make the most sense. This is why I chose Gingersoftware to see how I could rephrase my paragraphs in a better way. The tool works as each sentence highlighted shows different rephrasing options. I get to choose which option best suits my paragraph. I did that for each of my sentences and the screenshot above shows the difference between the before and after paragraphs. The revised paragraph is better constructed and flows better than the orignial paragraph. I wish I used this tool earlier so I could have submitted the revised paragraph. The tool does a great job of enhancing the communication by changing up a few words and providing better syntax for the paragraph. There is a link provided above for the software.

Thinking back on previous projects I've had during my time at UGA, I thought of a group assignment from my CMLT 3001 course. We were assigned a country off the Swahili Coast to create a travel guide or pamphlet for. It had to include information such as history, tourism hot spots, and economic standing (GDP, Exports, or rank). The image on the left is my original project, created on Microsoft Word. To the right, is my new Pamphlet, which was created on Canva and edited with "ThinkLink". I created this pamphlet, first using Canva to insert my information, and then added interactive text, images, and audio with "ThinkLink". The ThinkLink platform is an adaptive learning resource that offers a variety of tools to help teachers tailor assignments and curriculum to each individual student's needs. This artifact can enhance communication in the new pamphlet, better than the original pamphlet, in many ways. For example, the new pamphlet can link sites to the page such as: a traveler's agency website, where you can easily live chat with an agent. Additionally, the ThinkLink tool enabled me to add real, interactive images from Lemu. When you click on the image, it will take you to specific websites that allow viewer to learn more about Lamu, Kenya!

For this project, I decided to use Microsoft Sway, which I have never seen or used before. This was an interactive and smart tool that exists in the Microsoft Office Suite. This tool has many features, as I chose a newsletter template and inserted my previous project information on a Discounted Cash Flow Analysis, a valuation technique for a company. Microsoft Sway not only allows one to share the link visually but offers many options to export and share, including embed, direct-link, and even Facebook exportation. In my template, I edited the titles and text channels to create a more engaging presentation. In my opinion, Sway offers a stronger capability when compared to Microsoft PowerPoint, although the two do have different purposes. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Sway in the future for any projects or poster-type ordeals, as the tool offers numerous options and a user-friendly interface.

I decided to add to a previous project in my MARK 4600S class. I had the opportunity to work with the Okefenokee Swamp with a group, and my main tasks were creating different graphics for the park to post on their different platforms. For this assignment, I decided to use ThingLink to enhance the graphic by embedding interactive tools. I put in different tags that talked about general information about the park and the animals that reside in it. I feel like this gives consumers specific facts about the park that help with the communication aspect, rather than just looking at the graphic. I also put in a poll asking viewers if they have ever visited the park, and I feel like this aspect can help with collaboration by showing who has been to the park and who hasn't. I am not sure if you will be able to use the interactive tools by clicking on the picture above, but here is a link to my website page where you can interact with the graphic!

I created a poll that asks college students how many hours of sleep they get on average each night. I used AnswerGarden to create this poll, and what drew my attention to this tool is that once a lot of people take a poll, the most popular responses becoming visibly larger. I had a research paper/project last semester where I had to research the effects of sleep on productivity for college students. I mostly spoke from personal experience, but I wish I had used something similar to this poll to collaborate with my fellow college classmates to see how much sleep they get each night and make my data and research more accurate.

AnswerGarden enhances collaboration for my research project because instead of only using personal experience to explain the effects sleep has on my productivity, I could collaborate with other college students to find more accurate results, and make a more creative project. I was on a time crunch when I was creating this project, but if I had more time I would definitely use AnswerGarden to ask my friends, classmates, and more how much sleep they get at night, so I could base my whole project off more accurate data. It is also visibly more entertaining because as people are submitting their responses to the poll, the answers are getting bigger then smaller depending on how popular an answer is. I think this would be really interesting to visually see how much sleep everyone gets each night. Another bonus to this tool is it is totally confidential which leads to more reliable results.

As an interior design student at UGA, my entire coursework is basically completing projects to enhance my skillsets and boost my portfolio for the future. The main issue I come across with every project I take on would be that my classmates and I work extremely long and hard on a project, but then when it comes time to present we never have time to critique. At most schools, students will "pin up" their projects and allow their professors and classmates to give questions and comments on their project as well as critiques on how to enhance their project to become a better designer.

When I was looking for new collaboration and communication tools, I immediately wanted to search for a way to give comments and critiques in the classroom that uses technology to make this a faster process that we can have time for when presenting. I quickly found AnswerGarden under the Audience Response section in the textbook. Using their website I created a forum to open up responses using the topic "What did you think of our project?" Using the forum, my classmates can then share their opinons on the presentation. This includes what they liked, and also what they might think could be improved to make the design better. This can enhance the critique process because everyone can drop in their comments all at once rather than one by one commenting on projects, which in the end can be extremely time consuming even though it is helpful. After all of the comments are in one forum, I can save these comments to go back into my project and correct what needs to be fixed. Another issue I find is that I forget what people have to say after my project while I am standing in front of the classroom. To have all of the responses written out for me to look through later is very helpful as well.

In my ENTR 5500 class, we are tasked with reading and analyzing past entrepreneurs' stories and making assumptions on what we believe they should do next for their business from a consultant's point of view. I used WordTune to help make my conclusions on how the entrepreneur should move forward sound more confident and assertive. WordTune uses AI to fine-tune your writing. It takes things beyond grammar and adjusts words and sentences for different settings or lengths.

This artifact can enhance communication skills by proofreading and changing the tone of a paper or assignment to ensure the author's point is clearly interpreted. This was a great tool because it made my writing sound more professional and conveyed my information from a "consultant's" point of view more effectively.

For this project I used Microsoft Sway. I never even knew this existed. Although I found it very helpful and engaging. I 100% believe this is a better option than Microsoft slides. I found it funny that in all my years of being a student this was never introduced to me. I found myself seeing my presentation way more engaging and visually appealing than my slides before. I chose my presentation on a relationship analysis for the movie “LaLa Land”. It was incredibly easy to use although since I had never been on the site a slight learning curve at first. The templates were incredibly useful as well, as I used the presentation template. Importing photos and adding videos to it was significantly easier than when I've used Microsoft slides. I changed the backgrounds and also placement of the text, so you could see the full photo and click an arrow to see the information next. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something new to use and wants to stand out from their peers working on a project as well.

https://sway.cloud.microsoft/Hcv3pU60LsJWz9FZ?ref=Link(my presentation on sway)

https://sway.cloud.microsoft/my(offcial website)

I referred to my BIOL1103 class notes to create each label and this way of labeling each concept helped me learn the material in a shorter period of time and the visual design of the labels were useful to memorize the concepts. We all shared our work with each other and by studying these labels we all succeeded in the test.

The informaion makes much more sense this way because you can visualize all the dates in order instead of just viewing slide by slide. This was definitely a more efficent way to present this data compared to my orginal presenation. This website enhanced my collaboration by making the presentation easier to follow for anyone who views it. It shows that a timeline is much better for presenting information that is specifically for dates rather a slide show or powerpoint.

In the past I have had to organize projects with peers for my entrepreneurship classes. We usually share a Google Doc and write next to each item who will complete them, but it can become disorganized. I created a schedule through Kanbanchi that would be helpful when organizing my projects with my peers. The site allowed me to create lists based on the of completion of each task. This is much easier to keep track of than typing each task out on a Google Doc. The site also allows you to assign tasks to group members and assign a due date to the tasks. By laying out the tasks this way it is much easier to look at and see who is supposed to do what and when. There is also a feature to add a description to tasks. When communicating on Google Docs, sometimes the format will be rearranged and notes will be lost, by adding the note directly to the task this will ensure the note will stay with its designated task. I can see myself using Kanbanchi in the future when organizing projects with my peers.

I usually rely on Google Docs grammar and spell check to catch any issues I may have grammatically. As you can see the document does not show any indication of misspelled words or any recommendation for better grammar. To the right is After I installed Grammarly. There were many areas on my paper where I could have used better word and sentence sequencing. It also pointed out a few spelling mistakes that I overlooked. This tool could completely enhance my communication and make me a better writer. Utilizing Grammarly helps catch errors I never caught.

For my recent project in MBUS3100, I decided to enhance a workshop focusing on creating an advertisement campaign for an artist's upcoming album, complete with a mock-album cover. Initially, I crafted my artwork using Adobe Photoshop Mix. However, for this particular assignment, I opted to recreate it using Procreate. I made this choice due to limitation in expressing my creative ideas with Photoshop. Procreate, renowned for its design capabilities on the iPad, offered me a broader canvas for exploration.

In transitioning to Procreate, I found my creative potential significantly increased. The software's layering effects enabled me to work more efficiently and experiment freely with different elements of design. Particularly noteworthy was the use of caligraphy pens, allowing me to craft handwritten aspects that seamlessly aligned with the artist's theme. Going forward, I am excited to continue exploring the potential of Procreate!

The end product was a polished version of the original piece, with increased clarity, readability, and engagement. This was accomplished by entering the essay into the QuillBot interface, where the technology recommended better methods to communicate the same concepts and corrected any existing grammatical errors.

The employment of QuillBot can dramatically improve communication by ensuring that written text is clear, succinct, and error-free, which is critical for effective information sharing. This tool is particularly useful for cooperation in academic and professional settings, where the quality of written communication has a direct impact on the success of collaborative initiatives. By improving the clarity and quality of written information, team members may better comprehend each other's contributions, lowering the risk of miscommunication and increasing the efficiency of collaborative work. Furthermore, QuillBot's capacity to adjust the tone and complexity of language to suit different audiences makes it an ideal tool for adapting communication in a variety of collaborative situations.

QuillBot's official website: https://quillbot.com/

I created an infographic for use cases of social media within Gen Z using Piktochart. Piktochart allows people to create professional-looking infographics without the need for any design experience or design tools. By just typing "social media use cases for Gen Z" into the prompt bar, the website created multiple different infographics templates that I could choose from and edit. I used this to recreate research that I had done in a group project for one of my ADPR classes. It was able to take text and make it into a much more visually appealing and digestable form of content. This can be very useful for creating higher quality presentations for students who are not well versed in design or for students who do not have access to design tools which may be expensive. I could see this being very useful for schools or students who do not have the ability to purchase the Adobe Suite or other design tools. It can also help students who want to learn more about design and give them ideas on how to create an infographic for their classes or presentations.

The new tool that I chose to use for this assignment was the website Venngage. This tool allows you to design and create a wide variety of projects such as presentations, pitch decks, and infographics. For this assignment I chose to revamp my previous presentation from my Consumer Buyer Behavior class last year, where I was tasked with creating a presentation about the marketing strategy I came up with for our client. Before using Venngage, my slide was very blank and lacked any design. Using this tool I was able to add relevent photos of plants since my client was for a herb/plant company. I could upload these photos from my own device or browse all of the free pictures that Venngage had to offer on their site. This tool can enhance collaboration and communication in many ways. This site allowed me to insert links from any site that I needed, which could be very helpful when trying to communicate relevent information to others through my presentation. This site is also great in fostering collaboration because it alows you to add a QR code to your presentation so anyone that you give the code to can access your powerpoint as well as any links you have shared.

Venngage is super user-friendly, so it was easy to find striking and exciting templates for just about any sort of project you have in mind. I selected a template that I knew would work well in fitting lots of information, while still being much more exciting than putting it all onto a Google Doc. Through the use of stickers and color selection, I was able to successful fit all the dense writing into four convenient boxes, making it easy for any reader to distinguish what the information was about. The poster enhances collaboration, as more readers are willing and interested in Venngage’s poster templates over any sort of Google Doc. Venngage’s templates come across as more exciting and easy to read, thus making viewers willing and wanting to soak in the information.

As a senior Finance major, most of our projects involve working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data tables. When it comes to presenting this can get really difficult because showing findings to the class looks more like a confusing jumble of numbers that only the presenters understand. I have made an infographic describing the findings from my Survey of Investments Finance (FINA 4310) class. I used the site Venngage recommended in the Infographics section of the book. This tool was extremely user friendly, with suggested outlines and gave me exactly what I was looking for.

What I have created here is an infographic showing our five biggest findings during the management of our course-long stock portfolio. I have made these clear with the reasoning below, and very visually appealing with colors and simple numbers to pictures to guide the eye. I loved using Venngage and will definitely continue to use this in my finance classes in the future for better communication and collaboration.

The reason I chose the infographic path, as I outlined above, was for more simple and visually appealing communication within the field of Finance. As a student, if I were to have this presented to me, I would understand the groups findings much better and be able to engage much further.

The tool I chose to explore was Venngage. Although I was unfamiliar with Venngage, it was easy to use. I am familiar with Canva which is the tool I had originally used for the assignment. I changed the layout of my timeline deliverable from vertical to horizontal which helped me lay out the tasks for each checkpoint clearly and concisely. Because the client was an investment counsel, it was hard to make the deliverables fun and engaging but with Venngage, it had a cleaner feel without looking too empty or dull even with the original brand colors.

While exploring, I saw the endless templates that Venngage had to offer. In my industry, we make a lot of decks, and it is important to have valuable information and statistics to back up our content as well as get the budget up or obtain a client. The templates on Venngage include visuals that can communicate goals like your marketing ROI clearly and make engaging reports to show the ROI on your marketing campaigns. Although Canva has many templates, many of the marketing templates cannot effectively show data and can show stakeholders the true value of marketing by presenting big wins with infographics and customizable charts. One letdown of Venngage was the inaccessibility in terms of paying to download the finished product. I had to screenshot my slides instead of downloading them as PNG which a free Canva account lets you do.

You can look at the rest on my portfolio here.

After reading about collaboration and project management, I chose to create an artifact using the platform Explain Everything (explaineverything.com). The tool Explain Everything provides an electronic space for team collaboration and includes features such as image upload, voice recording, and video postings. I chose to recreate a project that I just had to complete in my Marketing 4780 course last week. In that assignment, I had to create a presentation that described the scarcity principle of persuasion and provide a real-world example of what I have observed of the principle. Although it was a presentation, we were tasked with creating it and submitting it straight to the professor for grading. I chose to create a more interactive and collaborative version of that assignment.

In this new platform, the students are given the same assignment, except they are tasked with working in groups of 3 and creating two sticky notes. On the first note, the team must work together to create a definition of the scarcity principle of persuasion, then provide a real-world example on the second sticky note. This tool enhanced communication and collaboration better than the original method due to the fact that the students are working in groups to complete the assignments and the other classmates can see what each team posted after it is complete. This promotes collaboration and critical thinking because students can then come back to these real-world examples when they need to learn the material for the exam. Being able to see the thought process of each group promotes collaboration and non-verbal communication.

I just recently found out about this app and not only does it reword sentences but it also flags errors such as spelling and punctuation. One of my favorite features of this app is its ability to provide instant feedback on your papers while writing them. Flip allows you to upload a video response to a prompt and interact with your classmates responses. You are also more likely to listen to your classmates responses and take in the information compared to how you would read a classmates discussion.
