Theoretically I suggest we should never forget the multiple layers that make up our sense of belonging, namely the regional, national and European identity: basically a multi scale identity, that's what we are talking about. But with Shakespeare (Hamlet) I would say: ay, there's the rub....
meaning that at the moment at least this is still a utopian notion when,for example, what we testify to is lack of  a political unity in the EU and the resurgence of nationalisms....not to speak about wars and other atrocities that are accepted in the interests of an invisible but pervasive oligarchy of money makers, the tangible result of globalized trade of goods and people.
We are here in a place that was a key to the slave trade centuries ago. Have we really got far from that or has it all just been reshaped in contemporary history?
Can a theory such as that of Global Citizenship really affect the lives of people in the most different parts of the world? Are those skills and competences going to affect policies or are they just a valuable pedagogical strategy to make better individuals ? Global village for me means that we are all inhabitants of the same village, that we are citizens of the whole world and not of a single state, but men have set boundaries and feel a sense of belonging, forcing other men to emigrate or immigrate when they should simply be free to migrate like swallows.
The human being is the only being who has the presumption of being able to dominate nature, instead he's just a guest. 
In the rainforest thousands of types of plants grow high, constantly struggling for the light. A tree dies and another trunk is born from his outstretched body. The modern society has lost contact with nature and has stopped learning from nature, it doesn’t accept pain and death but pain and death exist. There is no happiness without sadness, there is no light without darkness. The rainforest is a metaphor: if you want the light you have to go through the darkness.
It rains, you get wet but then the sun comes out and you dry up.

Responsibility for our behavior which takes in account the needs and problems of the whole global community. Which can be overwhelming, and very high task to do, because it basically means taking from ourself in a way and giving it where is needed. Nonetheless it is possible, at least in a small measure. (Apostolos) https://padlet.com/rita100/k0jcx48cuzcxniq7/wish/2487052372 Yesterday's experience had its own significance as the Erasmus team found themselves in the forest in rainy weather facing the difficulties of travel. The needs of all of us were common, as the forest that hosted us was the same for everyone. Regardless of our place of origin, culture or language the rain fell on us the same, the wind blew for all of us and the food we had to share was common. The thought automatically arises that if there is no mutual respect for our needs, then not only one will have a hard time, but in the future all of us will have a hard time.

In this context there is no gage, the fluidity characterizes life, the risk is the homologation, the highest expression of freedom is zapping, quoting Zygmunt Bauman.Can the pilgrim find a new identity in this reality?Is there anymore place for him? Can we be still happy?Is it still possible to make the world solid? Or are we all obliged to become simple tourists and foreigners?
