The significance of the word "pause" was to show that people need to look of there surroundings and focus on what they are saying and doing before anything happens. If the person pauses to see what is happening it will be easier to see what is going on around them. Sometimes after you hear something tragic go on or you see it you just have to take a moment to take all that is happening in. I have always been taught to pause and think before I said or did something so if you pause and think you are more possible to do something that may be a smarter choice. If they said stop then the person wouldn't be able to do something about that is happening. If they say pause then you are able to take everything and and then do something. Stop means to just stand there and do nothing but then you can't go again. Pause you stop but then you can keep going again.
